Kp 6 total overcast with cold drizzle thrown in!

whacking great coronal hole though so storm  could last for a couple of days. Keep watching.

Had a look out just now. Very faint band to the north, even the camera barely picked it up. Not worth a 40 mile round trip to find a decent dark sky location. May try again later.

Kp 6 Storm later, Scotland and Northern England have a good chance of seeing Aurora.

Edit; Kp 5 now.

A couple of pictures of the Aurora which I captured on Monday evening on the outskirts of Kiruna, Swedish Lapland. :) My first sighting of them for real and absolutely magical they were. Stunning natural spectacle and really is a big box ticked in things to see in life!

My first post on here, but I thought it worthwhile.

One of the most beautiful (as published by the Telegraph)    aurora b's I have seen. -

Could this be photo of the decade?

Is it real?

It looks to have picked up the wrong photo in the gallery (No 2) . Please scroll back to number 1

No 2 is just interesting Number 1 is mind blowingly beautiful.

It is a fantastic Phoenix pattern.

MIA

PS I do not know why it goes to Number 2. When I preview it it shows the original!!

Northern horizon here has a strange greenish hue, particularly the bit around the star Deneb. It's not streetlight glow (no towns that way) it's too late for twilight. It can't be, can it???

Nice aurora band with some curtains from my front door tonight.

Edit: looks like it might be worth a short drive!
