nothing laying though but i wont expect it to in this wind :D

not looking forward to work in a wee while, but at least the ship has merged two sailings.

Started snowing here in stonehaven about half an hour ago. Some really heavy showers, stopped for the time being but it looks like it will very much be on again soon. Pics will follow if it settles... :p

We've just had a rain shower that turned to hail. Will have knocked the temperature down a few degrees.

Showers getting heavier all the time in Shetland. Looking out the ops room window at this time I should be able to see the island of Bressay which is just half a mile away across the harbour but I cant its that heavy!

2" at Kildrummy (237m) Aberdeenshire - seemed to be the worst affected area between Aberdeen and Braemar this morning. Very little snow from Ballater westwards, too much shelter. No snow lyingg in Aberdeen City just yet - slight covering at Hazlehead though.

So me very fine hail falling in Scarborough atm... I would say it's too solid to be snow as it's bouncing off the ground but it is finer than I'd imagine hail to be... Quite strange as the sun is still out at the moment.

Heavy snow showers on and off all day, the wind is really wild and it is really blowing that snow about. Just a dusting on the ground but I guess the wind is keeping it from settling too much.

Oh and quite a few hail showers as well.

We had a few flurries of snow this afternoon at Milnathort, Kinrosshire. Temp was 2C so it didn't last long on the ground. Wind is bitter, think we could have some more overnight.

We've had some more proper snow in Scarborough whilst I was in York this evening. Came back and there is a covering on some small roads, and the cars and garden have a layer of the white stuff. It's only right on the coast, as there was nothing on the ground in places as close as Staxton for instance, which is only 5 miles from Scarborough and not that far inland.
