Weather Alert no 001007 for Wednesday 12 October 1500Z until Thursday 13 October 0600Z

Rainfall and possible consequent flooding

Following on from our previous Alerts this updates the situation at 1500 local time.

Two new areas are now threatening two areas of the country.

Area 1 is now into Devon and Cornwall and will move up to affect much of Wales the west Midlands, north west England, Cumbria and the Borders of Scotland, along with parts of east and south Scotland.

Area 2 is now into Sussex and will move to affect most areas, roughly, south and east of a line from the Wash to the Isle of Wight, this afternoon, extending into Lincolnshire, parts of Yorkshire and the south of ne England, this evening and tonight, before moving out into the North Sea.

Rainfall totals could be in the range 20-30mm in places.

Rivers and streams have overflowed in a number of areas, with flooding occurring in some places.
