can anyone help.

useing net weather radar and its showing snow showers out to sea both directions into the Atlantic and into the minch onto mainland scotland and above lewis in the north atlantic.

but just rain on lewis and few white blobs.

first off what are the white blobs?

and second it looks like a glitch how it suddenly changes from snow to rain, in a very neat line.

any ideas?

The white parts are gaps in radar coverage, so perhaps there's an issue with the radar site up there. The precip type detection uses model data for part of the system, which is in grids across the country, so sometimes you will see this in the image.

You've changed the forum view mark.

To get it back to normal, go right to the top of the page, and alongside the title of the thread, on the right hand side is an 'options' button. Press that and select 'standard' (near the bottom) :)

I got NW extra for going back into the winter and when I click on the Gardening forecast for here 'Castlebay' it comes up with the soil moisture and temperature blank. I typed in other locations and they wroked but it didn't work for my town. We do have gardens and lots of crofts in Barra you know http://nwstatic.co.uk/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif

Yes, I've had this problem when using internet explorer, although I should mention that it hasn't just been this site, and the solution

was to change browsers :)

Yep, Karl's dug out some information, it seems a recent update to flash player has been causing a lot of problems with IE7, more information here:

http://www.vistax64.com/network-internet/1...ot-respond.html

Best advice is that you either switch off flash within ie, or switch to firefox!

Go to Firefox I'd recommend. IE just kept freezing up on me on a regular basis, regardless of what website I was on, so i ditched it and went for Firefox.

Is there any reason why a large section of the Radar over East Anglie has been giving very poor returns over the last few weeks? Today, for example the rain is lashing against the window today but the radar is showing very little rain overhead. It would be good if we could fix it as I use the Nw Extra for work (I am a landscaper) and I happen to be working in Newmarket at the moment.

It's not something that's within our control I'm afraid, it's a problem at one of the meto's radar sites, I can't imagine it will be too long before they fix it.
