Just had a very minor sleet shower here. My new thermometer showing a temperature of 8.4 degrees. That can't be right can it ??!! (Bloody wants to be - just cost me £30 !!!)

I'd say it definitely isn't right djm, where is it situated?

Light-moderate snow showers since 1120, nothing settling as the temp' is 1.2c

Woke up to a tiny snow flurry

Just had a big hail shower

Forgot to report yesterday that I awoke to lots of snow, it had covered everywhere and was falling moderately, ended up with a 2cm covering but the it all melted by lunchtime when rain set in.

Must say that temps are proving to be just a touch higher than even I thought they'd be in my forecast yesterday. Expected some marginality, but not quite such a lack of snow so far. It may be that tonight it will kick in a bit more so people musn't give up hope. But we're starting to see real signs of spring in the west and north, and I expect this trend to continue through to later next week when battle will once more be resumed - though I think mild will win that one fairly conclusively.

Temp here at the moment is 8.9C, and we were up to 9.2C earlier. Really does feel like spring here.

Am going to re-post my forecast from yesterday.

Edit: no I'm not. Just realised not in the right thread for that. Am going to put it in another one! Ho hum.

A sleety snow shower this morning and then hail around midday. Looks like a big rash of showers heading this way in the next hour or two though.

Hi John.

Saw an amazing sight yesterday in south Lincs, travelling up the A17. The sun was setting, a big accumulation of cloud to the north, and the ppn visible in the distance from the cloud to the ground (an advantage of the flat landscape of south lincs).

Unfortunately, i didnt have a camara/phone on me, so couldnt take any pics.

Snow showers on and off today, following on from a 2 cm covering overnight.

For the last hour we have had heavy snow which has now left a dusting.

Phil.
