Here's a few pics I took earlier today in the garden, it's lovely to see so many plants in full bloom already but if the forecast weather becomes a reality, I think a few of these may regret being so eager to please.

Thank you jethro, I looked at every one of those, very nice.

The false Acacia I adore and this year they have done really well around here, I must get some pictures myself before its too late, they are in presteigne condition at the moment, after the next few days no doubt they wont look as good.

Regards,

Russ

Thank you Russ, the Acacia's are lovely, they've done really well around here this year too, no doubt enjoying the mild spring. Sadly, after tomorrow I doubt they'll be quite so wonderful but maybe if they weren't so transient they wouldn't be appreciated quite so much, I love them anyway. I treated myself to a new camera recently, no doubt I'll bore people with more flower pics before the summer's over.

Excellent, look forward to more

Funnily enough I have just ordered a new camera and am now feeling decidedly poorer than I was yesterday

Cant wait till it arrives

On the first Tuesday, after the first full moon, after the spring equinox, take a basket lined with something soft; the lining has to be of natural material, I find moss is ideal. Go to your local woods and knock on the 31st tree on your right, usually it will be an Elderberry but sometimes an Ash. Be careful to knock quietly or risk the wrath of a grumpy badger, woken from his slumber. If no one answers, knock again but never knock more than twice, if your knocking is ignored it is not your turn to receive the golden duck seed. If your knocking is well received, a hand will emerge and in its’ palm will be a small casket (do not be alarmed by the wizened appearance of the hand, it will not harm you). Take the casket and place it gently in your basket, hurry home before it becomes chilled. When you get home, select a place in your garden and dig a shallow hole; not too deep mind, or your duck will have very short legs. Very carefully remove the golden duck seed from the casket and lay it in the bottom of the hole; cover with a sprinkling of soil. For the following three nights on the stroke of midnight, dance naked three times anti-clockwise around the hole whilst chanting, Almighty and bounteous Jack, I implore you Sir, from your seed arise the Sacred Quack. If you follow these rules to the letter, then you too will have the pleasure of growing your very own duck.

And thanks for all the kind comments folks.

Even more flower pics, the garden has done really well this year, the Roses seem to have really enjoyed the mild winter/spring we had down here. Millions of Aphids this year though, even a hardened organic freak like me is struggling to contain the urge to spray them into oblivion, damn things, haven't seen a single ladybird so far either, very strange.

All the rain and lack of sunshine has had quite an effect on the garden, everything is very lush and green but there's a distinct lack of the big, blousy flowers usually associated with high summer. Smaller flowered plants have faired slightly better but the poor old roses are struggling and those Delphiniums from a couple of weeks ago got beaten to a pulp by one big storm. None of the Lillies are out yet, the Honeysuckle is covered in mildew and I haven't seen so many Aphids and Blackfly in a long time. There seem to be very few Butterflies so far this year and I still haven't seen a Ladybird in the garden. We usually get loads of Lizards and Slow Worms round here too, but haven't seen any of those so far either. All in all, a mixed summer so far.

Not at all, the more the merrier. Your Roses and Honeysuckle look a lot better than mine do after all the rain, Roses have turned into brown blobs and the Honeysuckle's dropped most of it's leaves with mildew.

Why not pop you photo's into the gallery area too?

This area will probably get cleaned eventually and it's a shame to loose such wonderful shots.

The gallery is free and will be a permanent record of all your photos. You can also set up private areas too. More reliable than photobucket and the like.

Give it a whirl.. :unknw:

More pics, some taken today in the sunshine, a few from last week when it was slightly soggier; I love the way rain collects on some leaves, be-jewelled Alchemilla Mollis sparkling takes some beating.

Thanks Russ, it is lovely isn't it, looks incredibly velvety too but the camera doesn't really pick that up (blame the photographer).

cool pics jethro

Thanks Blackdown; it's been a while since I added anything here, everything looking rather jaded after this months' lack of rain, I'm one of those mean gardeners who won't water anything once it's established.
