BBC Wales - Derek

The Met Office are predicting the mildest year ever due to El Nino

Drizzly in the west tonight, drier elsewhere 7-9c.

A warm font and then a cold front will push across the UK tomorrow with some rain from time to time, but turning drier later, temps 10-12c.

Weekend Mild and Wet and Windy10-12c, looking unsettled well into next week.

Dry in many parts tonight, but rain slowly pushing in from the NW, temps 1-5c in Scotland, 6-9c in England and Wales.

Tomorrow - Cloudy in most spots, with drizzly conditions pushing SE, turning drier in the NW later with some brighter weather, with rain for southern and eastern areas, temps 7-11c.

Saturday wet in the south, dry and cloudy in the north, remaining on the mild side.

No sign of any wintry weather for the time being,

Mainly dry and cloudy tonight, with some drizzle in W Scotland, temps 3-5c generally.

Scotland, N Ireland and N England dry with some brightness for the east on Saturday,with rain pushing East across southern areas of England and Wales, turning drier in the west later, temps 7-8c.

Drier again for the North on Sunday, with some rain pushing in from the west for the south, temps 6-12c.

Wales

Cloudy and dry to start this evening but tuning wet in the west later, temps 1-4c.

Rain in the south tomorrow but drier later, cloudy but dry in north Wales, temps 7-89c

Sunday looking wet for all of Wales, temps 9-12c.

Mild and wet tonight, 11-12c,ccoler tomorrow with further rain, with some snow on top of Snowdonia.

Wales - Rain pushing in from the west tonight, Severe Gales developing and with 7 flood watches a risk of flooding.

Starting wet and windy tomorrow but turning drier form the north with sun and showers, temps 9-12c.

Wet again for Frlday and Saturday, brighter on Sunday.

UK- Stormy with rain spreading from the west tonight with snow on the Scottish Mountains. temps 1-3c in Scotland, 4-8c over england and wales.

Rain for southern areas, showers elsewhere, wintry in western scotland. Later the front will clear southern areas leaving all parts in a mix of sunshine and showers,with strong winds and 70mph gusts possible over NW parts ,temps 10-12c.

Friday - More rain spreading in from the west, temps 6-11c.

In reply to tom, there is a risk of thunder possible tomorrow.

Wales -A Major Storm last night with sustained Force 9 Winds, with gusts of 74mph in both Pembrey Sands and Valley,and 73mph in Mumbles and Aberporth. There also remain 9 flood watches.

Dry to start tonight, with rain pushing in for tonight and tomoorrow but drying up in the afternoon, but still damp inthe west, temps 7-9c tonight, 11-13c tomorrow.

Further rain on Saturday, drier with sunny intervals on sunday Temps 10-11c.

UK -Storms Easing

Clear to start, with further rain into the west and north west later, temps 3-4c in scotland, 6-8c in England and Wales.

Tomorrow -Rain in western areas pushing east, turning drier later in most parts, but remaining wet in w Scotland, temps 10-13, feeling cooler than this in blustery conditions.

Saturday - Cloudy again with further rian, with snow in northern Scotland temps 4-6c in scoltand, 9-12c over England and Wales.

Drying out tomorrow with some sunshine and showers in the afternoon, temps 7-9c.

Rain and Gales on Thursday with severe gales in places, temps 11-13c, turning colder over the weekend, wintry showers on Sunday, with some snow possible into next week. .

UK- Some stormy weather this week, with some wintry showers in NW parts tomorrow, drier in the south, temps 4-5c in Scotland, 6-11c over England and Wales.

Thursday will see a band of rain push in from the west, turning to snow over higher ground in Scotland, wet in southern areas with some severe gales in western areas. Mild in the South, cold for Scotland.

Wales - Damp this evening, before turning wet overnight from the west, temps 4-7c, winds will pick up with Gales very likely.

A Stormy day with Severe Gales gusting up to 60-70mph inland, closer to 80mph along the south coast. There will also be heavy rain to start but easing back to sunshine and the odd sunny spell for the afternoon, gales still likely in the afternoon, but easing back a touch, temps 11-13c.

Turning colder over the weekend with wintry showers on Sunday, and some frost next week.

National Wintry showers for W Scotland, with rain pushing in from the west further south, winds picking up with gales in many western areas.

Tomorrow will see the rain pushing in from the west with snow likely in many parts of Scotland, more especially inland, with England and Wales seeing rain. Winds will strengthen to severe gales force over southern areas, with gusts up to 80mph on coasts. The rain and Scottish snow will ease back later as will the wind.

Temps 2-4c in Scotland, 6-10 over England and Wales.

Friday damp in the south, further wintry showers in W Scotland, temps 5-8c in Scotland, 10-13c over England and Wales.

Further showers on Saturday, wintry again in Scotland, in the north, before turning colder next week.

Wales - Possibly the worst storm since Jan 1990, with sustained storm force winds and gusts up to hurricane strength

85mph in Capel Curig, 82mph in Aberdaron and 76mphin Mumbles.

Tonight will be much calmer, dry and mainly cloudy,6-9c.

Tomorrow - dry to start with cloud and rain form the west later turning misty in places, Temps 11-13c,and turning gusty later.

Colder over the weekend, sleet showers on Sunday 7c, and snow showers on Monday 4c.

UK - still stormy for a time but this abating later, showers in places overnight, again wintry in W Scotland, temps 0-1c in Scotland, 4-9c over England and Wales.

Tomorrow rain in the NW dry elsewhere with a few brighter spells in the east, rain will spread from the west later, but staying drier in the east, temps turning milder form the west.

Fabulous little forecast by Rob McElwee during Sunday AM - talked about the cold sinking south with constant grins and nods and concluded with 'its going to get much colder, for the rest of the week Enjoy it!'

Gotta love Rob, he's a true coldie!

I could tell, his eyes were all bright and excited on Countryfile. "Proper winter" made that forecast for me.

24th Jan - Wales

A very cold and dry frosty night temps ranging from +1 to -5c, with nearly everywhere seeing a frost.

Tomorrow a sunny day with lighter winds temps 2-5c generally,

Another frosty night tomorrow night, before slowly turning milder Friday morning, leading to less cold weekend but still mainly dry.

UK

Mainly dry tonight with a widespread frost, with snow showers for the far SE of England giving 5-10cm of snow in places, temps -5 to +2c.

Tomorrow the showers tending to die out from the SW, with most places having a dry bright day, temps up to 6c

Friday should be cloudier and less cold, slowly starting the return of milder conditions over the weekend.

25th Jan - Wales

Frosty this evening across most of Wales, but cloud will advance from the north giving some drizzle and milder conditions, it could turn icy as rain falls on frozen surfaces, temps 2c in the North, -3c in the south, but above freezing by 9am everywhere.

Cloudy over most spots tomorrow, possibly a little bright in the SE, temps around 8c,winds light from the NW.

UK

Icy in the south, slowly receding as cloudier weather edges in, with some light rain in the NW, temps 1-5c in Scotland, -2c to 2c in England and Wales.

Grey most spots tomorrow damp in some western areas, the best of the brightness developing in the east, temps 3-8c in Scotland, 5-8c in England and Wales.

The weekend looking mostly cloudy with the best of the brightness for sheltered eastern spots, temps 6-9c on Saturday, 8-10c on Sunday, gradually getting milder for next week

Very much a case of High pressure being in control for the week ahead.

Wales - Dry and cloudy tonight, some frost in any clear spells inland, temps 0-5c, mainly cloudy tomorrow a few brighter interludes in the east, temps 7-9c.

Mainly cloudy again on Wednesday, maybe a little rain for the NW temps 9-12c.

Thursday milder 9-12c again mainly cloudy.

UK - Mainly cloudy in the west, clearer in the east with some mist and fog patches developing, and the odd frost in prone spots, temps 4-7c in Scotland, 2-6c in England and Wales.

Tomorrow, remaining mainly cloudy in the west with some rain in NW Scotland, drier and brighter in the east, with any overnight fog soon lifting, Temps 8-11c in Scotland, 7-9c in England and Wales.

Wednesday more widespread rain for NW Scotland this moving into NW England and North Wales for the afternoon, cloudy elsewhere in the west, brighter again in the east, temps 9-12c generally.

Drier on Thursday with the brighter weather in the east, Temps 8-12c.

High Pressure is sat on top of the UK this weekend giving a Lovely Weekend with widespread overnight frosts, with the exceptions being the far North of Scotland and the south coast of England where there may be a little more cloud.

Most places will have wall-to-wall sunshine during Saturday and Sunday, again with more cloud for the far south coast, and northerner Scotland where there may be showers on Sunday these turning wintry later.

Temps Wales -5 to 0 tonight, 6-9c on Saturday, -6 to -1c on Saturday Night, 6-8c on Sunday.

UK Scotland, -1 to 7c, -5 to +2c in England tonight,

6-9c tomorrow generally, and 6-8c on Sunday

BBC all morning have said SNow for S England Weds into thurs.. No mention of Northern areas
