  1. We just had the tail end of the storm north of the Isle of Wight come through here with torrential rain and thunder. It did look quite severe on it's way through but I don't think it's as bad now, bit of hail and it's caused the drains to overflow in the roads.
  2. Don't let Michael see that, 1987 all over again...
  3. I hope not, I'd rather the south / south west get some storms, being in Hampshire we're always the breeding ground for the storms heading towards London / Kent. Need some much needed rain and a thunderstorm would just be the cherry on top.
  4. I think in the right conditions you could be looking at more than 25miles. We've had some cracking high level storms before and we could see the lightning when the storm was well over towards Brighton / London.
  5. Absolutely gutted that the models have placed this over the SE corner. Everything started off as if it was going to hit the S and drift NE, oh well, another quiet night.
  6. Can anyone give me an insight into the chances for Sunday/Monday for Hampshire, Petersfield sort of area. It's just there is a rumour RAF Odiham think that they're due a lot more heavy snowfall, and there could be up to 3ft in areas with the existing covering of snow still there. MetCheck, MetOffice et all... are all showing a lesser likelihood for heavy snowfall for this area, however the charts seem to suggest that there is a fair amount of snow on the cards, so hopefully someone knows a bit more so that I can make plans.
  7. Just been awoken by thunder and lightning, it's raining fairly heavily.
  8. I can hear rumbles from that cell tracking NE out of Southampton.
  9. Oh so it's not the stuff moving through Hampshire at the moment?
  10. It's on it's way WestSussex1, we just had the storm here and it was building all the time, I can hear frequent loud rumbles from it still as it trundles east.
  11. This storm is moving east slowly, it's getting stronger, had some vivid CG's with loud cracks of thunder so it's tapping into the potential energy by the looks of things. I can now see the back of the storm, so it's moving away.
  12. We've got rumbles of thunder here, had a deluge of rain a few moments ago but it doesn't seem that strong, still developing I expect.
  13. It's raining heavily and I can see the size of the storm that went through, it's structure is fairly large with a nice pronounced anvil, however it seemed fairly weak compared to it's size. It did dump a fair amount of rain and is rumbling away towards the East, pretty much following the path of the A3 towards London. It's weird, blue sky is now appearing and the rain is easing off.
  14. We've got a 'thunderstorm' here, most of it so far has been fairly loud, however we did have one CG which was extremely loud and the rumble went on for ages.
  15. Just had a rumble of thunder come from some dark clouds here, have not seen any lightning and there was a brief bit of drizzle, nothing else so far.
  16. I can see distant sheet lightning from Hampshire.
  17. Keep me posted Snowmania, might head down to Portsdown Hill again!
  18. So have you redacted your prediction for Hampshire?
  19. That's my next question, can anyone bring me up to speed as to what CZ and CF stand for?
  20. Does anyone know if Hampshire will get any rain/storms tonight, sitting here patiently eagerly awaiting some sort of refreshing rain.
  21. Does anyone have any idea where that storm is going to make landfall coming out of France?
  22. Ah that's a shame, was a bit like action man for a moment, camera ready, keys in pocket, car started!
