  1. Belting down here, really heavy snow blowing all over but it's very wet stuff and struggling to settle.
  2. Very windy with light snow falling, should be getting heavier pretty soon looking at the ppn on the radar.
  3. Really hope the next band falls as snow looks like it'll be quite intense, dew points and upper air temps are forecast to stay sub zero until this evening when we lose the SE'ly flow, current surface temp here is 1.9c with a DP of -1c so all still ok for snow to fall and the air temp would lower once ppn set in.
  4. Of rain lol temps and dew points on the rise that far west, 4c or 5c with positive dew points. Temp risen to 2c here.
  5. Rather it was raining and wet tbh instead of this light snow that isn't settling.
  6. Got off to a good start but it's just light and melting faster than it can accumulate, lets hope it can intensify.
  7. Becoming light and intermittent with the slight dusting beginning to thaw, needs to be heavier.
  8. I think both bands you can see on the radar will merge together, well I hope so because the first one is a bit pathetic.
  9. Hope the front slows down a bit or it won't snow for long! Coming down pretty hard now.
  10. Where abouts in West Cumbria are you? If you go to profile and edit you can add your location so it's visible to all
  11. According to the radar the forward edge is into central Cumbria now but nothing has fallen to the ground. The 00z runs did bring the front in quicker and the GFS has upgraded the snow potential.
  12. If it's progress overnight is anything to go by then I don't think it will Ian, nothing falling from the sky here but it looks very dark to the west.
  13. Wow the front is here much earlier than forecast, more of a quick snow to rain event then unless it slows down? Wasn't meant to land here until around midday.
  14. Some of the best snow events in my memory have occurred during Feb or March and that includes lying snow down to sea level, indeed April has in the past delivered severe wintry conditions to the UK but the very strong sun can make short work of it. 1.0c here with a biting SE'ly wind, I'll be happy with a few hours of heavy snow tomorrow but got a horrible feeling it'll just be rain.
  15. I think we're just about to get our fix! Some really stormy looking charts getting churned out and I had a quick look through the GEFS panels and there is certainly some alarming charts showing intense depressions tracking over the UK especially during Monday & Tuesday.
  16. Getting pretty windy now, 1c and feeling bitter. Looking forward to the cold rain tomorrow!
  17. My Accuweather app has me down for 6cm tomorrow, I can dream
  18. Really liking the NAE charts the 12z was a slight upgrade. Snow starting around lunchtime and even by 6pm the snow is still falling with some interesting accumulated snowfall totals.
  19. Temp still falling away even with the cloud and noticeable breeze picking up, 1.6c with a dew point of -1.0c.
  20. Latest Met Office update for the NW Friday: A cold start with some brightness. Increasing cloud will bring snow through the afternoon, lasting well into the evening, perhaps turning increasingly to sleet and rain later in the night. Maximum temperature 2 °C.
  21. Cloud cover will once gain limit how far the temperatures can fall tonight plus an ever increasing wind not helping.
