Snowing lightly here... no great shakes though..

3 inches + snow in Ilminster and still snowing (no let up since 5pm) moderate. Heavy for over an hour or so earlier.

I think this scenario cant be ruled out.
I think thats a bit unfair.
Ian's forecast mentioned turning to sleet in Somerset around early afternoon.
But he did say he was not certain where the line of sleet would be?

Has the flooding effected you guys in Muchelney this weekend.... Levels been looking like a lake for weeks now,
Pub quiz fact: Somerset got its name from the original old name of " Summerland" because the county was only viable ( livable) during the summer months. Rest of the time it was under water.... Can quite see how it it got its name over the last few months.

Countryfile weather forecast was a tease for friday lol, not much in the way of ppn shown for most of the week, just rain tomorrow daytime
maybe we will get a bit of luck from the easterlies?! Yeah saw it too, nowt for us poss maybe could be something Friday onwards.... DOH!

I was wondering this earlier as forecast is for light snow from 9pm ish to around 3am and currently there isnt enough on radar to suport this? unless it slows right down as it reaches england properly?
A nice little stall over Somerset would be good.... Maybe it's going to be a peppering of showers over night... If you catch one or not will be the thing

I know its a bit far out but the "Jet Stream|" is where it should be ..... well usual place for winter anyways..
... dont ignore the jet stream..

That comment is wrong. The default pattern for the jet is over or to the north of the UK, that jet is displaced south.
Its my understanding that a Jet Stream to the south of the UK draws the cold down over the UK, if it were to the north of the UK we would be in a more warm cycle? i.e Jet Stream in the winter = south summer = north?
