Personally I’m hoping for a wetter than average and cooler than average summer. No floods but a summer of HLB with a cool Polar flow would be great.

Hopefully it will happen and hopefully impact on our part of the world. I remember last years record SSW produced absolutely zero for us in Western Europe so obviously nothing can be taken for granted.

I know it doesn’t hold a lot of weight in here but the CFS monthly does reflect well what the GFS & ECM have been hinting at. Weak ridge to our north east and the euro high not so dominant.

Interesting to also see that the real cold is well & truly bottled up over the North Pole, possibly not a bad thing if your looking at retaining and increasing arctic sea ice.

Northern Norway, Northern Sweden and Northern Finland are having a fantastic Winter at the moment (as usual) - it’s completely covered in snow. (As one would expect)
They are definitely some of the best places in Europe to visit every Winter for guaranteed snow/cold.

If you think all the above is crap I would love to hear ones thoughts on what a good Winter is?
Anyways - roll on the cold/snow for the UK/Ireland...surely we can scrape a centimetre or two before the end of February?
Don’t get me wrong I’d love to see anything like those temperatures in our neck of the woods but there still massively above where they should be this time of year.

Lots of despondency about our winter weather to date, in short it’s been dung
first glimpse of light the last few days that it could be a back loaded winter with the end of Jan & Feb coming into play. Not sure I can stomach 2 winters on the trot with Zero snow days.

Happy New Year all!....here's to a more varied weather year and perhaps some snow.
Records are tumbling all around the globe, Australia is burning, the Amazon was burning, the arctic circle was burning, Arctic sea ice was at an all time record low (again) their are 50% less species on this earth than there was 100 years ago. We’re now seeing the real impacts of global warming and it’s impacting on our lives like never before so now is the time to individually try and do something about it, not just for us but for our kids and our Grandkids. Happy new year all

Some much needed rain over the past few weeks to fill the underground reserves and various local ponds and rivers. Hopefully we avoid anymore long dry spells.
