  1. "Outlook for Saturday to Monday: Unsettled on Saturday with rain and showers, easing later. Wet and windy in the northwest on Sunday, brighter and warmer elsewhere. Patchy rain moving slowly southwards on Monday." Is patchy rain really going to move south on monday?

    1. Andy Bown

      Andy Bown

Probably moving South over more N/NW areas depending if the cold front is into those regions by then.

    4. Milhouse

      Milhouse

Much softer air now compared to earlier in the week now that that piercing wind has gone.

  3. I don't mind a taste of spring but please let's not spend our "high pressure" allocation too early like 2012.

  4. splendid spell of summer weather and set to continue for a while...i would prefer it to last until september but that's a bit greedy. Quite a turn around from the poor outlook a couple of weeks ago.

    1. Milhouse

      Milhouse

Indeed it is a very nice outlook. Not always warm for everyone but at least it will be dry.

    2. Eugene

      Eugene

Well GFS 06Z is now moving towards GEM 00Z, ECM 00Z and NAVGEM OOZ in a retrogressing high to our NW

  5. Last two weeks of june will be the best of summer. How do i know? because i'm abroad. Who needs models?

  6. another traditional cold, wet may? joy. I think the "below average" junkies are going to have an enjoyable month or so.

No good for cricket thats for sure. Anything below 15c feels chilly when out fielding.

    3. Eugene

      Eugene

Probably as much fun as the warm junkies are having over this dire weather this evening

    4. IanR

      IanR

may is a month of variables anyway, cant see it being as cool as april overall . but surely we must be in line for a below average, its been almost consistently above since last the july heatwave, it was some kind of changeover

  7. is there going to be a Netweather spring forecast?

  12. Given what the express printed last week i would find it deeply amusing if (a la GFS) we got close to some record breaking mild weather next week! Would they report it?

    1. Summer Sun

      Summer Sun

Record breaking warmth as UK baskes in mild December or something like that. I bet a certain person will be worried

    2. Yarmy

      Yarmy

"The mild blip is a temporary respite before bitter Siberian cold paralyses Britain with schools closed, flights grounded, etc, etc"

    3. Bishop Brennan

      Bishop Brennan

They'll probably end up blaming their failed forecast on either the EU or immigrants, as per usual.

      Bottesford

Only thorn in the side has been the cool days with low cloud (esp early June) and that the most unsettled weekend of the summer was when I got married!
