  1. Metwatch A pal, who i've known since we were 16, has a place in Corralejo and he's been out there since Monday. We have over 7 weeks to wait. i just want some dry weather for a few days, so i can get on with some jobs outside.
  2. AWD May 8th for 10 days, to Fuerteventura
  3. 10c, grey, gloomy. Feels colder than 10c. 2 weeks today, since returning from the Caribbean. I need sun and real warmth again.
  4. Absolutely vile this morning. Grey, moderate to heavy rain all morning, temp of 8c. Up to 12c now, but still feels cold. Age is catching up with me, i reck.
  5. HurricaneSteve i was out on our front drive, weeding this afters, in a t-shirt - pleasant enough in the sun.
  6. 12c, hazy sun, wind not too bad here. Beautiful early Spring day. Did some weeding, now about to cut the lawn. 1st cut since January.
  7. After a glorious early Spring day, here, yesterday with sunny skies and temps topping out at 13c, today is grey and gloomy at 10c. However, the blow is softened by the fact i'm on the bus and 20 mins away from the 1st pint, as i'm meeting a mate at pub for a few bevvies.
  8. Azazel A stunning morning here, crystal clear skies and sunny. 10c but feels much warmer in the suntrap back garden. Wouldnt it be great if this was the Spring set-up for next 3 months, with temps increasing
  9. 11c, sunny - Spring has sprung. Feels quite pleasant in the sun. More of the same please, albeit with rising temps
  10. Grey, windy, 8c. Feels more like 4c at the mo. Huge contrast to the last 2 weeks for me
  11. In Absence of True Seasons Havent been away since 1st week of November; it's been a long, boring Winter. Worked hard for 36 years; been early retired since Nov '16. Do it while we can, quite frankly
  12. V pleasant out there today, at 14c with sun and clouds. Rain forecast from 2, here, so washing out on line to hopefully dry in the balmy breeze. Off to the real heat tom morn, 2 weeks cruising around the Caribbean. When i come back i hope to see a 17/18c March with plenty of sun. Here's hoping
  13. raz.org.rain it was meant to happen last Summer, remember? Plume after plume were forecasted; instead post-June we had a July that was dire, an August that was not quite as bad as July, and late August/early Sept the sun and warmth eventually returned for a week or so. Last Summer, post-the June spell, was a complete bust, as far as expectations and forecasts were concerned.
  14. North-Easterly Blast Admittedly i looked at day time temps for Sept 10 - ranged here from 22c to 15c. 1st half esp was warm during day.
  15. Methuselah agreed. Sept 2010 was warm and dry here imby. Late Nov into December 2010 was freezing.
  16. I reck this is the 4th Winter in a row where post-mortem wise on NW, peeps have said that all the background signals were there, right synoptics, etc BUT They didnt 'deliver'. Just saying
  17. Islands Atlantic Gulf Stream A Maritime climate The End
  18. Summer8906 hmm....no need to be "increasingly fearful" though. Daffodils blooming early is hardly a trigger to increase fear. A tad dramatic, me thinks. Nature has ways of balancing things out.
  19. Summer8906 "....and getting increasingly fearful for the current weather's impact on the spring." I'm intrigued by your comment - In what way, exactly?
  20. raz.org.rain Damn well hope not. Give me a beautifully mild, and increasingly sunny March and April.
  21. A cold rain fest - no surprise there, as the Mad ones cling on to "it usually shifts south" type b.o.l.l.o.x
  22. raz.org.rain "Old wives' tales" - plenty of those on here. As i'm still relatively sane, i take the "if it's a good month, the following Summer will be sh#te" type views with a warehouse load of salt. And i defo dont "worry" about computer generated charts for any future period.
