I am loving this weather and all the snow today, it's already filled in all the gaps in the driveway and garden and I'm really hoping we can make it past the 2cm which is all we have managed to get so far where I am in Leicester.
Only minor problem is we have no heating at the moment so I'm at home wearing 2 sweatshirts, gloves and a blanket. I'm willing to risk hypothermia though for good weather!

We have very light snow in LE5 (about 5 metres from an LE2 postcode) it is just covering the pavements and I have photos (not great ones) to prove that it is possible to get snow in Leicester.

It's SNOWING!!

Well...perhaps its snowing in Leicester, as Andy has n't been on saying 'its still raining' for almost an hour?
Nope, it's still raining in Leicester, has been since about 6.30pm and no sign of any snow at all. I was really hoping we'd get a good thick layer of snow today as we only had a sugerdusting last week but it's not looking hopeful.

Well for Leicester (LE5) BBC and Met office are forecasting Heavy Snow Tuesday night then rain and light snow on Wednesday with light snow on Thursday. Metcheck says sleet all day tuesday, sleet and snow Wednesday and Sleet all day Thursday, and Weathonline says rain except for Tuesday afternoon.
It doesn't look too promising from the forecasts above. What does anyone else think the chances are for loads and loads of snow in Leicester?

Trying hard not to but once again I can feel the hope build for loads and loads of snow next week. Last time we got a dusting that didn't even cover the pavements and a lot of ice in the drveway. What do you think, is it worth hoping for the best or should we in Leicester prepare for disappointment again?

At work in Leicester city centre, just nipped out and felt a few droplets of what seemed like freezing rain.

Temp -1.2. Dew point is -3.4 according to the weather station up the road. Now all we need is some precipitation

I love lampost watching. I will be spending most of the next few nights sat in my front doorway in my pajamas, wrapped up in a quilt staring out at the lampost at the end of the drive and wishing really really hard for just a little bit of snow (then a little bit more, and a little bit more.....).

Will it snow in Leicester?

Do you think we'll be OK here in Leicester or is all this beautiful snow going to turn to rain?

I'm 1.3 miles from the train station so got the same amount of snow at the city centre although we have managed to hold on to it all unlike town where it has mostly melted. I know that my dad who lives out in Keyham in the countryside got around 6cm and is lucky enough to be completely surrounded by fields so my brothers have been having a great old time building snowmen and sledging.
As disruptive and dangerous as I know it would be there is a part of me that really wants to wake up one morning to several feet of snow and no way to leave the house, just once in my life I would love to experience that level of snow.
