  1. Yep a bit cold outside first thing this morning but a beautiful day now.
  2. After two weeks of temperatures pushing 40c, high humidity and dodging biblical showers, it was nice to get back from Florida to conditions where a good brisk walk this morning was actually enjoyable. it felt bloody cold sat in the house last night though although the American obsession with fully cranked up air conditioning gets you used to it.
  3. Holiday, i’m In the wrong line of work to do business in hot, sunny, abroad type of places.
  4. Yeah but nice and warm in the sun. TBH i’m glad to see the back of August which after such a good early summer turned into a disappointing month in these parts. i quite like September which often delivers decent weather but with that autumn feel of darker evenings and a chill in the air although this year much of it will spent in Florida where no doubt conditions will be much hotter and possibly wetter.
  5. Yeah i’m Not after the heat back, the sunshine and an autumn feel to the days will suit me fine.
  6. Cloudy, damp and drizzly, anyone know where’s our summer gone.
  7. Hmm cricket, that’s a thought. only a 10 minutes walk and a good bar although they were probably playing today instead. reached 23c here so hardly the heat of other parts of Europe or even down south but got a sweat on giving what’s still alive of the the grass it’s first cut for nearly a month.
  8. Yeah it's decent here, not overly hot but a decent temperature to be doing a few outside jobs without feeling drained. tomorrow looking warmer though so it could well be a beer garden afternoon. .
  9. Heavy rain until lunchtime and then plenty of showers since. After what we’ve been used to lately, a poor day’s weather but hopefully it’s just a blip before dry and warm returns in a day or two’s time.
  10. It’s been dark all night as well but at least it knew when it was time to sod off
  11. I really need to go to the recycling centre to get shut of a load of old wood which has been filling my car since yesterday but it’s still peeing it down.
  12. Absolutely hammering in it down here. nothing else to say really other than although no doubt it won’t prevent the hose pipe ban, it should at least stop any need for me having to use the damn thing.
  13. Just been stood outside while I let the dog out and it’s certainly a lot cooler tonight than for what seems like months. Poor day overall, especially when the bar has been set so high this summer and Sunday is looking even worse with heavy rain replacing heavy showers but hopefully it dries up again early next week. i just want my summer back.
  14. Peeeing it down and breezy but at least it will freshen things up a bit. just a shame it came in time to ruin a well earned weekend.
  15. Got to 30c here late afternoon, not bad for a mainly cloudy day. dry until about 10 minutes ago when we had a few heavy drops of nice cooling rain but it’s stopped now.
  16. Cloudy start but brighter and a bit of sunshine as the afternoon went on and a decent 26c. These conditions suit me fine and the SE can keep its 33.5 c with their hopes for even record breaking temperatures. i like that type of stuff but only when they are part of a holiday, a pool and an all inclusive drinks package......not when i’m working.
  17. Maybe the hotter than a hot thing heatwave that they are all craving is getting on top of them a bit now. what they need is a good old NW region cloudy spell to cool them down a bit.
  18. This mornings forecast said NW England would see the best of the sunshine today with more cloud on Sunday. after today’s letdown of wall to wall cloud, occasional drizzle and a max temperature of 17c I just hope to god they got it the wrong way round.
  19. Damp cloudy start but the suns coming through again. after yesterdays blip, the return of summer?
  20. Get today out of the way and hopefully several dry and warm days to follow. summer 2018, the gift that keeps on giving.
  21. I hope me being as far east in the North West means my summer carries on. its not often I want to live in Yorkshire but........
  22. Not much rain today but after it looked like brightening up late afternoon it’s a bit heavier at the moment. currently 15c and with a maximum of only 16c one of the lowest temperatures of the summer so far. lets hope the dreaded SE/NW split isn’t about to set up with us looking on tearfully while the summer carries on darn sarf.
  23. Well that lot should put a bit of green back into the grass around these parts.
