  1. Updated Manchester Airport TAF snow overnight changing to rain showers as expected with that mild sector, then PPN changing back to snow as the trough clears. I think the main focus for the snow showers tonight will be in a line from Liverpool to Manchester Northwards, with areas like Cheshire maybe catching an isolated snow shower. my main focus is Thursday afternoon and overnight Thursday purely as an IMBY perspective as the flow switches to the NW and the Cheshire Gap comes in to play interesting few days coming up and most of the region have a very good chance of seeing some snow.
  2. It is not tonight that the 850hpa take a brief dip it is tomorrow evening when the trough drops south that PPN on low ground could turn to sleet or rain.the showers tonight and in tomorrow morning should be of snow everywhere, with -9hpa and low thicknesses,as with the nature of showers some will be happy and some will miss out.
  3. Looks like a small streamer has set up looking at the radar. A cold clear and dry night was forecast just goes to show doesn’t it….
  4. Both Manchester and Liverpool Airports TAFS forecasting snow overnight into tomorrow morning.
  5. Yes the Thursday warning is the one that interests me the most that sounds very much like a Cheshire gap event, the country file forecast later will be interesting, think this warning holds more bearing as the wind switches from N to NW
  6. @northwestsnow I hear you mate thats the dream for the Cheshire Gap snow showers, shows up very nicely on the UKV.the best direction for frequent showers.
  7. Uppers do rise significantly Tuesday evening but drop again Wednesday, obviously I don’t know your area but uppers of -6 are marginal probably why Meto are going for a mix of rain and snow
  8. The upper air get mixed out on Tuesday snow probably reserved for high ground.
  9. To say it’s going to be a dry week is a bit premature how’s this for a streamer. Cheshire gap streamer
  10. Ok positivity time ECM has extended the cold spell to day night.abeit not quite as cold. Tuesday is now out of the equation unfortunately as those uppers get mixed out briefly snow probably confined to 200m although looking at the PPN maps it weakens significantly as it heads south. so we have Wednesday Thursday Friday and maybe Saturday for some troughs or snow showers to emerge it will certainly be cold enough even to the coast. lets see if we can get some upgrades in the next 48hrs eh…
