Weathers been great here. Very misty in the sound though. Been to the South Hams today and in one of the bays, the water appeared to be steaming. I was parked up at the other side and actually felt the difference on the car park, the nearest side to the cliff was warm and muggy, the other side was really cold and damp.

After a beautiful day so far, its just gone gray and started to rain. 21.4C 60% RH 1024mb Blobs now appeared on the 5 min radar. Much better than having to wait for it to appear on the met office's free radar!

Been talking to my parents and I they havn't seen anything like what they saw in Burnley yesterday for quite a while. A lot of the garden is damaged, but trees had fallen on roads, corrugated roofs came off factories and the away stand at Burnley has been damaged forcing Norwich fans to sit with Burnley fans in one of the home stands tomorrow. Weather wasn't that bad in Plymouth although some of the waves hitting the Hoe were much higher than me, so I kept my distance.

Secondary low could be a way of describing it I suppose.

Nick managed to edit my schoolboy error. I've found some sort of chart and tried to explain it again above.

Maybe it's not clear. There's a low pressure at 991 to the east of Greenland, the isobars don't particularly surround it as High pressure is dominating to the west of spain. South of the low is a trough which leads to another low between 1000 and 1004. This has the warm and cold fronts, is it possible two name these different types of low? http://www.wetterzentrale.de/archive/1999/...cka19990716.gif This is six hours before on the METO chart. Maybe it's just the way the yanks interpreted it?

Anyway, are there specific names for a pressure system, specifically low although I assume it'll just be adding cyclone to the end, when the isobars surround the low pressure or when it doesn't. Not sure if that makes sense but I've a chart in front of me with your typical cold and warm fronts with an L where the fronts meet and was wondering if there's a scientific word for this type of low and if so are their any other words for other types of low?

You do know that the Isle of Man has its own met office and has nothing to do with the British one? It's the same for the channel islands and any other crown dependency.
