Cheers! They're not quite good enough for the BBC, but I've got the camera ready in case we get some snow. This cloud that's just rolled in really impressive, just a solid sheet of grey. They've had about 2 inches of this in North Lincolnshire, lets hope for some of that! Seems like the site just crashed again! Everyone looking at your profile, C_S!

Maybe I'm like Samson the Snow Shield, without my hair, it will lose its strength! I'm rather attached to my hair, I'd be delighted to shed some of it in honour of Nottingham getting some snowfall! On the other hand, Andy with short hair would be delightful!

Oh really? Well she's from Plattsburgh, in Clinton County (though goes to uni in Albany) - I'm planning to go over there in the summer! Means I get to visit the States (for once) and get free accommodation! Absolute win! Yeah, I'm au fait with the Fahrenheit scale more or less, can more or less convert from one to the other in my head. We don't get mega storms at home (the occasional thunderstorm), but we do get the heat and had freezing rain the other week (rare over here)! Though, if you're the snow shield... My housemate and I both think we are. It never snows in Bournemouth (except now), he's said of the snow falling now "it's usually like this in Grimsby" - result, Grimsby gets hit by snow while he's here. Fantastic.

Good girl! There's an American exchange student who I've got friendly with, from upstate New York. One of the questions she asked was if it snowed in winter. I told her it's usually after January. As it happens, she doesn't like snow (telling us in December that it had already snowed back home and hoping that it wouldn't here). Irony - one of the coldest and snowiest winters in the UK for ages! I'll rub it in when she's back from travelling round the country and Europe tomorrow... :wacko:

You're on, young 'un! We will not get any snow! NG7 Snow Shield is powered up to the max! And the showers are starting to come from a more northerly direction, so more chance for them to die out! I think I know what it feels like to be Coast in the Banter Thread now...

Andy, have you seen how those showers are dying out on their way down! There's not a snowflake's chance in Hell (or Nottingham) that they'll get here!
