I massively underestimated how much rain we would get last night. 35mm today that takes us to 95.4mm for the month. Frustrating to just miss out on yet another 100mm month.
It never ends.
Absolutely ridiculous stat highlighting how wet the last 8 months have been here. We're going to be finishing on around 70-80mm for April. That makes it the driest month since August.
sorepaw1 I don't follow that logic. You've acknowledged that our weather patterns are a world away from what you experienced growing up. Surely that would strengthen the evidence of the effects of climate change?
I just hope we don't have an absence of a happy middle ground between this dross and the inevitable "Unpleasant 35C+ from nowhere heatwave" that we will inevitably get in the summer.
Just got back from 10 days of glorious warm sunshine in Fuerteventura, and the spring is just as wretched as it was before.
Comfortably the worst spring I've ever experienced. 6C and drizzle barely a week from May is appalling.
I think this current spell of weather demonstrates perfectly that having lighter evenings means bugger all if the weather is dreadful. Proponents of year-round BST take note!
Off to Fuerteventura next week, cannot wait to escape the gloom.
Looking on course for yet another 100mm month around here. It's just relentless, it's extraordinary.
Anyone who insists our climate has not changed needs to look out of the window once in a while.
