  1. rwtwm Quite possibly. The article itself doesn't mention anything about a heatwave. But still very disappointing from the BBC, but then their weather and science content in general in recent years has been dreadful. The pandemic exposed many of their writers as being utterly illiterate when it comes to science and data. Anyway, the article itself... Mini heatwave: will the very warm weather last? WWW.BBC.CO.UK Very warm and sunny at the moment, but for how long will it last?
  2. Really disappointing from Darren Bett. Mini heatwave? Absolute rubbish. Would expect that from the tabloids.
  3. What a gorgeous week coming up. I would honestly be happy with this all summer. Pleasantly warm by day and fresh by night.
  4. Bristawl Si It does make me laugh that 21C at the beginning of May is being touted as something amazing. Shows how dreadful this spring has been.
  5. I massively underestimated how much rain we would get last night. 35mm today that takes us to 95.4mm for the month. Frustrating to just miss out on yet another 100mm month. It never ends.
  6. Absolutely ridiculous stat highlighting how wet the last 8 months have been here. We're going to be finishing on around 70-80mm for April. That makes it the driest month since August.
  7. 5C and chucking it down. 5 weeks today is the first day of summer. I am not upset to be working night shifts this weekend.
  8. sorepaw1 I don't follow that logic. You've acknowledged that our weather patterns are a world away from what you experienced growing up. Surely that would strengthen the evidence of the effects of climate change?
  9. Azazel Bloody hell I would be absolutely melting in that attire in this weather. It's chilly but no more than a light jumper required for me.
  10. TwisterGirl81 Then crap for the weekend, of course.
  11. I just hope we don't have an absence of a happy middle ground between this dross and the inevitable "Unpleasant 35C+ from nowhere heatwave" that we will inevitably get in the summer.
  12. Just got back from 10 days of glorious warm sunshine in Fuerteventura, and the spring is just as wretched as it was before. Comfortably the worst spring I've ever experienced. 6C and drizzle barely a week from May is appalling.
  13. I think this current spell of weather demonstrates perfectly that having lighter evenings means bugger all if the weather is dreadful. Proponents of year-round BST take note! Off to Fuerteventura next week, cannot wait to escape the gloom.
  14. 5 out of the last 6 months here have had more than 100mm of rain. Just ticked over 100mm for March.
  15. WYorksWeather Absolutely. At least the disgusting winter of 13/14 was interesting in how stormy it was.
