  1. Out in the garden. It's a race between comet p12, the rotation of the earth, encroaching cloud from the NW and the second half of Real Madrid v Man City.
  2. *Stormforce~beka* I bought it on purpose in Tesco, as there was none of the normal stuff at the time.
  3. Dorsetbred Exactly. I put the two tins side by side, cos I'm that dull. The difference... milk and cream, as you say. OH's was thicker to pour. Mine was nice enough though.
  4. *Stormforce~beka* The best I can offer is 17C and a brisk South Westerly at the weekend. I'd take it.
  5. *Stormforce~beka* It's brighter here now, albeit still windy. One more batch of rain tomorrow, then hopefully that's it for a bit. Still going to. Be breezy though. On another note, we just had two tins of tomato soup for lunch. Mine was plant based, the OH's wasn't. Thought all tomato soup would be plant based.
  6. Once this mess blows through, we might have a chance to see comet p12 Pons/Brooks after sundown in the Western sky, this evening.
  7. So the lunchtime rain turned out to be nothing at all and now the nothing at all is moderate rain that looks heavier as it comes in from the South. Bravo.
  8. jy Cockoo Fair cancelled this year, on that day. Sorry, Cuckoo. That's some rain out in the channel. Is it forecast to fizzle or slide east of the iow? Looks like it's heading this way.
  9. Back to work, and a rest this week. Quite a bright start, but a boggy walk as the farmer has put the cows and their newborn calves in the first field. It'll be a quagmire by the end of the week.
  10. Andy Bown Agreed Andy. It was decent. We sat out until 8pm. First night since last year that we haven't lit the burner and come in early.
  11. *Stormforce~beka* As DB says, it depends on the aspect. If it's a sunny spot, wait and put your outdoor toms in there. If you want something to grow up that trellis, you'll need to bin off the container, remove a slab, add plenty of organic matter and plant your clematis/passion directly in the ground. My Mum has a climbing hydrangea in a similar situation that's doing well.
  12. Yep, beautiful now. The clear slot has been heading this way all morning, so keep the faith to the North and East.
  13. Pretty warm out there this morning. Clearer first thing, but overcast now. So much for the Sunny spells again.
  14. *Stormforce~beka* Very nice. Remember to be mean to the lavender. If in doubt, check the RHS website. https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/lavender
  15. Been down to the coast again today. Not much in the way of the promised sunny spells. Didn't feel warm in that wind either. Bought some Aubrieta on the way home, to spill down the walls hopefully; as my seeds are taking their sweet time.
  16. Annoying off and on drizzling mess, so binned it off for an afternoon in the greenhouse to get some seeds in. At least it's warm in here.
  17. Just the one shower so far, to coincide with a cheese toastie. Back to bright and breezy digging now, as the heavier stuff passes to the West.
  18. Don't believe it. Just checked the birding blogs and found this message from yesterday... Then time checked it with my message to the OH from when I was walking back to the car from Lytchett bay.
  19. No Sea Eagles , no Ospreys; but a few Marsh Harriers, plus various other wetland birds. Nice spot though and met some nice people at the lookouts. Rain started at 3ish, but I'd picked up the OH from shopping by then and we were back drinking tea at our pals house.
  20. Down at Lytchett bay this morning, on the look out for White Tailed Eagles again. Bright enough and breezy
  21. jy It's clearing now, so going to sit in the Sunshine and listen to the mighty Saints. Can't believe Rotherham beat anyone. I'm from Rotherham originally, so always keep an eye on what they're up to. Usually nothing.
