  1. Just a light covering on grass , snow has been on and off all day, not settling, Couple of cm's by last night but most of that gone by midmorning. Forth must have had a bit yesterday, you must be what, 300m above sea level? About 230m asl here but still struggled for accumulation yesterday ,even though it snowed all day.
  2. I'm not far from you, between Carnwath and Newbigging, we do well here in an easterly as long as there is a northerly component, a straight easterly is no good.
  3. WRF-NMM looks to get the milder air out quite quick Friday into Saturday, looking at my locale, Friday 0700, 850hpa temp around -2,freezing level 821m and wet bulb feezing level around 925hpa Friday 7pm, 850's -4,freezing level 401m ,wet bulb freezing level about 960hpa Saturday 1 am, 850 temp -6, freezing level down to 342m and wet bulb freezing level down to about 975hpa. The change in the air mass temp moving south shows up quite nicely on the Theta e charts.
  4. Those cells fair rattled through here, however just seemed to die as they passed. A few cloud to ground strikes, a few minutes of intense rainfall and loss of Internet for a while.
  5. Unfortunately as much as I had planned to, I'm unable to go chasing (damn kids), so hoping this has got my name on it.

  7. Brilliant, thanks @Kirkcaldy Weather, your forecasts are very much appreciated. Looks good for tomorrow, might take a short drive along the A70 into west lothian or south east into the borders depending on the radar.
  8. @Kirkcaldy Weather I've just seen the forecast from convective weather in the storm thread, is this in line with your thinking re tomorrow evening? I've noticed you are pretty spot on with your forecasts, and I'm hoping south Lanarkshire is in the firing line. Thanks.☺
  9. I'm sure you will get some later this afternoon. That band thats just gone through rural south lanarkshire, douglas, lanark, Biggar was epic.
  10. Thanks buddy. Guess I'll have to try and change my route, hope my boss understands, if not I'll just blame you. ???
  11. Catch, in your experience how accurate is the Euro 4? Just asking as I've to travel down the 74 first thing tomorrow, get on at Abington off at Annan. Then back again later in afternoon.

  16. Thanks Ravelin and doctormog. I'm travelling down to Dumfries and Castle Douglas first thing ( work). So I'm guessing about 4 am ish down here? I'm too lazy to look properly. Hopefully will make it that far west and be enough for a snow day.
  17. Can't complain about the snow in south lanarkshire. Was a lovely afternoon for a walk, before the thunder snow hit that is.
