  1. ***Special report on this week's severe weather across Cornwall, Scillies and the Channel Islands here: http://www.cciweather.co.uk/ ***
  2. Ahh how typical I get back to cornwall next week when things look like becoming quiet. Thunder, lightning, downpours, hail, flooding, storm surge and now snow!
  3. Ahh fair enough. Seriously organised stuff though and looks very intense for January.
  4. Is that an MCS over Belgium and Netherlands right now... in January! What astonishing factors must be in play today!
  5. Last shower here looked a little icy/sleety in the heavier core.
  6. Amazing persistence of that storm in mid January! Been the most thundery wintry months for many years surely?
  7. Ahh very jealous on missing more thunderstorms today. Typically My return to Falmouth late next week looks to be just as things quiet down.
  8. A couple of models giving a wintry threat on Saturday but seems 90% likely only rain can be expected im afraid.
  9. Hi Ian, apologies if this has already been mentioned, but is there still a risk of some wintriness on Saturday? A few other models such as the NASA GEOS5 for example seems to suggest something.
  10. STORM SURGE Warning and key tide times for Scilly and Cornwall available here: http://www.cciweathe...ings/4573724904

  12. Cornwall really looks like taking a battering. I know parts around Commercial Road in Penryn and possibly areas around the Princes of Wales Pier in Falmouth may particular see flooding issues.
  13. Cornwall really looks like taking a battering. I know parts around Commercial Road in Penryn and possibly areas around the Princes of Wales Pier in Falmouth may particular see flooding issues. That goes against all the important safety advice. Too many lives have been lost this way recently.
  14. Hopefully if this mild weather continues, late February might bring out the shorts again in Cornwall. Was warm enough on a day or two last year! Looking forward to those first warm days of Spring now. Will feel amazing!
  15. *** WEATHER WATCH For Cornwall, Scilly & Channel Islands: http://www.cciweather.co.uk/warnings/4573724904 ***
  16. Oh to have been in Falmouth! There was thunder and lightning at midnight! What grand timing!!!
  17. A low risk that Nature could provide the fireworks tonight! Some ML Cape will spread across the region with the showers.
  18. CALLING ALL Cornish, Scillonians and Channel Islanders!!! Im creating a new page on my website of all your weather photos from 2013. No matter what it is and what weather it shows, we want it!!! http://www.cciweather.co.uk/#/2013-pics/4573724903 Please do reply here or PM me with some photos. The more the better! Cheers all.
  19. Oh dear. Thats like saying its usually Spring from March to June, Summer from June to September.... You get the rest....
  20. Snow shower on the 24th here and a few flakes at the end of the 25th here have rescued this month. The 24th was lucky because we went through some very intense precipitation, dragging the cold air down to the surface enabling precipitation to fall as snow. Would have been rain otherwise!
  21. Yep, looks like the risk of cold continues to be out in the distance but the risk of storms is increasing again. Tonight will ve very windy with Gales for a time. Some very tight isobars. Today so far is beautiful with lots of sun. Hard frost last night leaving the ground very white like we had a dusting of snow! Icy patches still around in the shade now too.
  22. Calmed down a fair bit since the squall passed. Was quite a few bursts of intense rain there. Radar shows this. Wind was really going for it for a time!
