  1. Sunny this morning now bright with thickening cloud. Looks mild/warm all week in the sun. The south west will be the best place to be overall this week.
  2. Look how the greens aka sub 0 850hPa temps only ever seem to attack Britain again. It seems they make every attempt to reach our latitudes whereas everywhere else is warming. Something worrying again going into the summer I have to admit like recent years with high pressure refusing to ridge over. Saying that we are in a better position than last year. The charts recently have not been too impressive. This summer is crucial I think. If it follows the last 6 then worrying times for foreseeable summers I think.
  3. Sadly stuck in the library revising today but it's a glorious day with strong sunshine making things warm. Very few clouds too. Shame I can't be out in it but looking hopeful for now that the drier weather in the far SW may last to Friday and beyond
  4. SATURDAY: Sunny and Pleasant. Best Weather in the Country! 12-16c Cornwall's Forecast: http://www.cciweather.co.uk/#/cornwall/4573724902 Channel Islands Forecast: http://www.cciweather.co.uk/#/channel-islands/4573977985 99 Followers @kernowweather
  5. To be fair, the GEFS ensembles highlighted the 12z Op's temps were likely to be a bit too high. Other than that still looks fairly good with high pressure not too far away. Not perfect by any means but not really a trough slap bang over us. But without wanting to rub it in but down here in Cornwall will be one of the best places to be, closest to the high and warmest uppers!
  6. Apart from shortening days the road to winter is far. The warmest months are more July and August.
  7. Yep as per the map here, those outside and just a little bit inside the warning aka Falmouth etc escaped the worst generally. http://www.cciweather.co.uk/#/warnings/4573724904
  8. Well Falmouth enjoyed a lovely sunny day in the end. Sure, some convective cloud but dry and fairly warm with light winds. Looks like my weather watch on my website was fairly accurate today with the Lizard and the far west of Cornwall escaping the storms.
  9. Intense showers erupting in cornwall now and there is a thunderstorm heading towards Truro and looks to be currently just north of St Austell.
  10. Very sunny and pleasant here in Falmouth so far. Was expecting more convective cloud and some showers by now but that may change soon.
  11. FRIDAY: Sunshine and Downpours, Possibly Thundery. 12. THURSDAY: April May Showers with Sunshine, Downpours, Hail and Possible Thunder. Cornwall's Forecast: http://www.cciweather.co.uk/#/cornwall/4573724902 Channel Islands Forecast: http://www.cciweather.co.uk/#/channel-islands/4573977985 99 Followers @kernowweather - Lets make a 100 by tomorrow!
  13. Ahh gutted yours haven't been shown. Keep trying in future though. Princetown definitely has competition. Hehe.
  14. I reckon you should send those Pictures to BBC Spotlight. Im sure David would have your snow displayed at the start of his forecast!
  15. Well what an evening it was earlier. Quite something, especially for May. There are twigs and leaves strewn everywhere here and I mean everywhere!!! Poor plants and animals. I hate how high pressure seems to show such reluctance to come on shore at this time of year. Most frustrating. It feels like we have the equivalent of the Polar Vortex in Winter. Low pressure just seems to spawn over us these days! WEDNESDAY: Far Better! Storm Force 10 Winds replaced by Sunshine and a few Showers! Cornwall's Forecast: http://www.cciweather.co.uk/#/cornwall/457372490 Channel Islands Forecast: http://www.cciweather.co.uk/#/channel-islands/4573977985 98 Followers @kernowweather - Who will be our 100th?! 16. Leek reporting rain/snow on xcweather now. Well, it was a very rough evening here in Costa Del Fal. Winds really picked up around 6.30 here and became some of the strongest ive ever seen. For an hour or so it was a real storm with 50-70mph winds. Trees fell down, twigs and leaves are scattered everywhere and I mean everywhere. Reports of power lines down between Falmouth and Helston. Many trees down and reportedly one down right next to campus here earlier. It quite quickly subsided but for when it lasted it was quite something. The lights were flickering briefly too. I was in the library too when the Fore alarms started going off. I wouldnt be surprised if the wind was playing things up. The building is very exposed to the storm force 10 gusts that were being recorded around Kernow!
  17. Reports of fallen trees and power cables coming in now. Cornwalls pirate fm is best for updates on travel into the evening
  18. Wind seems to have dropped a touch here but still some nasty gusts.
  19. Lights flickering here at times too. Only drizzle but some fierce gusts.
  20. Was all calm a minute ago but fierce winds now battering Falmouth. On xc weather those wind arrows on the Isles of Scilly look anaonomously big but i can quite believe what it's saying!
  21. TUESDAY: Mid May!?!?! More like Mid January Mate! Thoroughly wet and windy. 8-11c. Cornwall's Forecast: http://www.cciweather.co.uk/#/cornwall/4573724902 Channel Islands Forecast: http://www.cciweather.co.uk/#/channel-islands/4573977985 WEATHER WATCH FOR HEAVY RAIN: http://www.cciweather.co.uk/#/warnings/4573724904 97 Followers @kernowweather
  22. Hmm looks horrible for us guys here in Kernow tomorrow. I dont like the way High pressure seems so reluctant to ridge anywhere at the moment. Circular looking highs are never a good thing in the Atlantic because they literally go nowhere.
  23. MONDAY: Cloudy start but brightening up. Shower risk all day though! 10-13c Cornwall's Forecast: http://www.cciweather.co.uk/#/cornwall/4573724902 Channel Islands Forecast: http://www.cciweather.co.uk/#/channel-islands/4573977985 96 Followers @kernowweather Dont forget the survey on the left hand side of the website!
