  1. A rather poultry (compared to some!) 25cm on 2nd February 2009.
  2. TheOgre Easter 2008 was great with more snow than the winter preceding it!
  3. raz.org.rain A positive NAO would bode well for a hot summer.
  4. raz.org.rain Well, you never know! However, I'm not sure a negative AO would bode too well for a hot summer? I would think the Jet stream could be on a more southerly track across the UK, rather than to the north? However, if the NAO was to remain neutral or positive, then it could be a hot summer still?
  5. Apart from underwear and towels (which are tumble dried) I always hang up my washing to dry naturally. However, not outside but in the utility room!
  6. Summer 2009 was in my view, very reasonable and far better than 2008, particularly August!
  7. damianslaw And with it being unexpected would make it all the better!
  8. I remember Atlantic 252 yes, but the sun would be just as strong, although it would certainly feel much hotter at 32C. Also you would probably more likely get burnt (my own experience!) if it was 15C, (especially if it was windy) than you would at 32C, as you would not feel it so much while in the sun!
  9. B87 Not really. If we were to get a strong northerly in June, we could easily have sunshine and maxes of only 15C.
  10. damianslaw Yes, if we get a super cold winter, it will no doubt come when least expected!
  11. Main difference between winter 2024/25 and 2020/21 is the solar cycle. 2020/21 came just a year after solar minimum, whereas we will be around maximum come later this year/early next year.
  12. SummerShower that's a realistic possibility and would certainly be unique!
  13. I know and I'm really beginning to wonder if our climate has recently undergone an unprecedented shift?! Yeah, maybe for those who want a cool summer (not necessarily me BTW)!
  14. *Stormforce~beka* I wouldn’t be so sure about that. I personally don’t think it would make us lucky, but there’s nowt I can do about it!
  15. raz.org.rain heatwaves wouldn’t be so bad if they were of the dry variety and not humid!
  16. raz.org.rain with weather patterns seemingly becoming more sluggish, I too can see a prolonged dry period once the patten changes, leading to droughts!
  17. *Stormforce~beka* and people will keep saying it until we get a pattern change, which will happen. Question is when?!
  18. raz.org.rain I’m sure the pattern will change at some point.
  19. SqueakheartLW The latest (blue) forecast members are less bullish for a strong/super event, so I would say it will likely tone down the strength.
  20. Arctic Hare Agreed, that would be the worst possible scenario! I would take the current weather over that!
  21. I recall something rather similar happening in more recent months, albeit not suggesting heat!
