    Be patient people, this beastie has only just begun feasting on its moisture and falling pressure. Its like the skinny guy paying two visits to the gym, going home for a glass of milk and getting angry because he does'nt look like Arnold Shwartznegger. Perfection takes time.... Steady as she goes!

    I know exsactly what is going to happen... In the morning it is going to get light, comes fri eve it will get dark. Saturday is where the fun really starts, quite early on it will get light, minutely less light than fri but light all the same. Saturday night will see yet more darkness arriving from the east, a touch more than fri night..... Damn, anyone seen my coat?

    Flashing every 40 sec to my ENE. I suspect it is the humber cell. Intereasting line developing from bristol thru worcs and the west mids heading NNE . Could be a good hit for west and south yorks in an hour or 2.

    A little concerned here in south yorks, It's now gone 11:30 am, still slate grey and even a little drizzle! Max temp still 14.6c Theres going to have to be a pretty dramatic turn around I feel in the here and now to get any decent heating going on. Speaking of heating.... Had to put mine on for 15 mins.... Pretty chilly in my house now after 3 days of greyness.

    seriously, as usual in recent times we have done best for storms.. I guarentee you that in 12 to 18 hours the whole of netweather will be focused on south, west yorks, the humber and linconshire.

    Since moving to barnsley ive never had so many storms. Saturday 22 nd july at 17:45 to 18:00 year 2006 i'll never ever forget. 6 direct hits on houses on my street, too many explosive close strikes to count and 66.3 mm rain in thirteen mins. In the 7 years ive been here there has no fewer than 15 storms in a single year. (15 in 2010... 4 of those were in the december snowstorms)

    Loving those charts frosty. Perfect growing weather fo my spruce, pines and firs! Almost looks a double whammy next week with two plumes from continental europe (as mentioned above)

    Like winter in here, trawling through armfuls of trolling and cr.p to get any decent info, quit it already, use the model moans and ramps thread for that please.

    I'm recording much higher than expected. I'm on 27.4 c here in Barnsley. My sensors are in the correct (standard for temp recording) positions. It hit 20.0 c here by 08:03 this morning.

    Eased right off to a satsifying 24.5 here from the thirty c mark eariler. Looking out of my window to the SE I can see that storm cell near the wash!!! And I'M IN BARNSLEY.... how big is that sucker?

    30.1c now, I know its not just me either. Other amature stations have broken 30 c also

    Although not official, I reached 30.4 c yesterday. 29.7 c now. Some very large cumulus shooting up too.
