  1. The following June was a real shocker though. It took until June 28th just to reach 20ºC here, with several days having sub 15ºC maximums. May had more 20ºC+ maximums than June did that year.
  2. I remember the event, although I don't recall a significant amount of snow here.
  3. Aren't the Isles of Scilly the least snowiest place in the UK?
  4. I was wondering, was 30ºC reached at all during June and July 1998, and what were the highest recorded temperatures for each of those months?
  5. Although summer 1993 was cool (Highest temperature only 25.5ºC), it was fairly dry here with almost half the summer rainfall occuring on just a few days (June 11th - 25.9mm, July 9th, 17.0mm, July 16th, 10.9mm and August 22nd - 21.1mm).
  6. Looking at the CET list, September has been warmer than June in the following years since 1900 (27 times) It probably happened several more times before as well. 1903, 1907, 1909, 1916, 1926, 1929, 1946, 1948, 1949, 1951, 1955, 1956, 1958, 1961, 1964, 1971, 1977, 1978, 1980, 1981, 1985, 1987, 1989, 1991, 1997, 1998, 1999.
  7. August 1997 is another hot summer month that isn't mentioned as much as well.
  8. July and September 1980 both had a CET of 14.7ºC, is that the closest September came to being warmer than July in the 20th century, and was September actually warmer in some places. It would be interesting to see the comparision between the 2 months.
  9. From my weather stats September 1999: 14.7ºC September 2005: 15.3ºC June 1991: 12.1ºC September 1991: 14.7ºC First 4 months of 2001 January: 2.7ºC (1.4ºC below average) February: 4.1ºC (0.1ºC below average) March: 4.6ºC (2.0ºC below average) April: 6.9ºC (1.3ºC below average)
  10. I remember that day well, it reached 27ºC in Birmingham that day.
  11. You could also include these months, as they were all quite cool August 1992 July 1993 August 1993 June 1997 (2nd half) July 1998 July 2000 Mid June - Mid July 2004
  12. I was thinking of going on Thursday, that doesn't seem such a good idea now Any idea how the weather will be for the last day next Monday.
  13. Is the difference between June 1991's CET of 12.1 and July 1991's CET of 17.3 a record for any summer month.
  14. Summer 1984 wasn't that bad here, here are the averages for Birmingham for summer 1984 (from weather online) June: 14.6 July: 16.8 August: 17.6 There were 24 days with a max of 25ºC or above during that summer, the 4 summers were followed were really abysmal, especially August 1986 & July 1988.
