  1. How is West Malling (Kent) looking?....from puruising the charts tomorrow looks the wrong side of marginal - because of the warm sector - but from evening onwards looks quite interesting for at least some snow, and possibly a covering? Any ideas which areas are likely to do best? - EA/NE/Midlands?
  2. Down in West Malling and it is still snowing - decreased marginally around 8am but now quite heavy again! Accumulations amounting to crica 5-6inches at present, temperatures have increased slightly from 0.4C to 0.8C!
  3. Could anyone post a link for the latest fax chart - would be interesting to see what the MetO expect to happen throughout the course of the morning........what is that link, meteological.fr or something like that?
  4. Well looks like I won't be getting into London today for uni on the Strand - sometimes I think I came home deliberately in the hope of seeing more snow LoL Anyways, here in Kings Hill, West Malling (12 or so miles from Maidstone) it has been snowing since 0400am....snow flakes have been small (I read a post by Kold that said due to the cold DP's?!), but has become quite heavy at the moment with about 3-5cm thus far! Heres hoping for me of the same Just out of interest, and to keep on topic, how far is everyone expecting the front to eventually move?
  5. Been snowing here since circa 0400 this morning. Temp at the moment is 0.6C, with a covering of about 3-4cm. Still snowing, although as has been the case all morning, the snowflakes are particularly fine - coming down quite heavily though!
  6. Steve, Kold, TEITS and Nick - your posts make excellent reading and are particularly informative to a novice like myself; for that, I would like to say a big thank-you! That aside, according to the models what time is the PPN meant to arrive at the south coast and work its way up north? Surely, the earlier it arrives the greater potential there is for snow over a wide area? Thanks for your views in advance!
  7. It snowed heavily in Kings Hill from about 2100, settling from 2200, until 0100 whereafter it was much lighter.....I was out until about 1200 and when I came in there was roughly 6inches of lying snow! However, some of it has already melted and what is left is thawing fairly quickly; I would say about four inches remain. Temperatures dropped quite suddenly from about 4.2 to 2.1 and then remained at 1.4 whilst is was snowing, dropping slightly once it cleared. Attached is a picture from last night, more can be found in the photography forum for those that are interested (http://www.net-weather.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=29442)!
  8. Been snowing in Kings Hill, West Malling since 2100.........temperature about 1.6C, very few with bigs flakes. So far about 2-3inches on the grass, cars but less on major roads. Have photos for tomorrow!
  9. Was snowing here in Russel Square, London......at the moment sleeting but its getting heavier, although odd burst of rain.
  10. Temperature: 2.3C Sky: Clear and sunny Wind: NE Conditions: Lying snow and very icy.
  11. I have posted some pictures of last nights snow in the photography forum, along with pictures from the snow last year in March, if anyone is interested - http://www.net-weather.co.uk/forum/index.p...0&gopid=591752&
  12. Been snowing here for about 3 hours, although it is not very light and the flakes small.......nevertheless, have about 1-1.5cm of lying snow, even a light covering on certain roads. Temperature now 0.7C.
  13. Light to moderate snow here in West Malling...has been snowing like this for just over an hour, some beginning to settle giving a light dusting, except on roads which are too wet. Temperature has dropped from 2C to 1.3C and still falling.
  14. Location: Kings Hill, West Malling, Kent Precipitation: Very Light Snow Amounts: Roughly 1cm
