Torrential storm here (just south of Guildford) lots of lightening and the rain is just unbelievable. Keeping a close eye on potential flooding now.

Heavy snow between Guildford and Horsham. Starting to settle. Also settling snow in Horsley as hubby struggling home in a sports car...wish him luck with that one lol.
Edit...now stuck at Newlands Corner...roads impassable already !!

Thunder, Lightening and torrential rain now arrived in Chessington.
Edit : forget torrential it's now of biblical proportions !

Cheers for the earlier comment Steve. And suffolkboy, thanks for the 'on-the-ground' report! The thunderstorm you chased keeps trundling north; now into Norfolk. And the latest Lightning Radar at 21.15 shows a storm has moved into West Sussex.
The storm is just south of us at the moment, I'd say Horsham area must be in the firing line. Distant rumbles and flashes

Well Guildford was gridlocked, people getting into work two hours late and more.
Totally back you up on that one, took 1hr 35 mins to get 4 miles into Guildford this morning, what is it when we get a tiddly (a few mm at best !) bit of snow, that the whole area grinds to an almighty stop ! grrrrrrrr

Just had a big storm pass over us here in Cranleigh,(8 miles south of Guildford) Lots of lightning, saw some beautiful cloud to ground lightning, Torrential rain for about 35mins, Garden very happy !!!

Is anyone near thorpe park ? Hubby driving eldest to work ATM and I can't find any flood warnings just hope the roads are ok
Hubby just got to Esher (not too far away) and there is a storm there at the moment but said roads not to bad, however a poor car at Sandown Racecourse appears to have been hit by lightning, Hubby has called fire brigade, Don't think its a good day for that car owner !

Storm appears to have stalled over us, it can't seem to go west or east, and just keeps growing :-(
My poor cat doesnt know what to do, storm has knocked out our TV but luckily not our power (Yet !)

Storm is right over me now, Lots of thunder and lightning and torrential rain, roads flooding as drains can't keep up, Storm looks to be growing fast on the radar! Have noticed Gatwick have changed the flight path over me, so guess they have it bad too !

That what I was thinking, it is very warm here though, wonder if it will either get winder or get sucked down , guess ill just have tonwait and see :(Hate all this, weathers fine all week and then stormsnat the weekend! Been like it for months now, roll on the winter at leastbu know what your gunna get!
Rain today has it on course for you at the moment (about 3.15ish) but it can always change direction before then
