My lightning detector is going like crazy at over 120 strikes/ min and warning of a severe storm which to date I have never heard it do !!
Having said that it looks as though its going to miss us !

Temp 0.1c , Dew Point -2c Wind NE 9mph and maybe a few granules of snow on the ground !

Still nothing in clacton,temp upto -0.5c cloudy, radar shows light snow
Matt check out your nearest lamp post one or two flakes floating around we are right on the edge of that blob !!

Looking as though Clacton could catch the edge of any precipitation coming from the blob in the north sea!

Well well , i didn't expect that being close to the coast .......its started snowing ! temp 2.1c

Raining here too !Now raining with everything that fell last night all but gone. What was left from last weekend will now follow. A bit sad, but putting my Pollyanna hat on - at least we had 7 days of lying snow to play in which isn't bad for these parts.

Snowed earlier but its raining now and the temp is -0.6c and dew point -2c !

Nice fresh covering of snow this morning with perhaps one or two more showers to come before it warms up !

Very true, the temp here in Clacton has been gradually dropping all morning from -0.4c to -1.1c so we are pulling in some cold air which i would not expect being so close to the sea with the wind in that direction !People really are under estimating the strength of Cold over in France at the moment. Just take a look at the Temperature and Dewpoint readings as the South Easterly has picked up across Essex and Kent at the moment.
Manston has -3c Temp and -6c Dewpoint from the continental flow
Southend has dropped down to -1c Temp and -3 Dewpoint again with a South Easterly blowing.
So Planet Thanet your readings are correct I would

Working perfectly for me on ie8 however there is not a cloud in the sky so those who can't watch at the moment don't dispair !

My Syncom also working fine now

My Syncom has been stuck probing for a couple of days now ! Is it just me or do others have the same problem ?

My Syncom lightning feed is constantly probing and the lightning detector is stuck on the 13th at 20:19 .

The detector appears to be picking up strikes and my syncom shows it is on line however when i look at the netweather map it is showing all the lightning detectors as red to show they are off line including mine which i know to be live. Is this the case for others who are on line feeding data to Netweather?

It appears that the lightning detector feed has stopped working my Syncom is just probing and the Netweather lightning display stopped last night!

I also noticed this at the weekend and was not sure if it was a problem at my end or Netweather as it was probing all the time, also the 5 minute lightning page is stuck on the 9th of Feb.

2 things that made me laugh this morning
1= Teenage girl walking down road in shorts , okay it seems lovely out today solid blue sky and reaching 10c but shorts??
2= The looks i got in town got after buying the kiddies a sledge(half price)a old couple people even stopped and asked me if i know something they don't!!!
Hopefully my sledge will come into good use this next week and i haven't tempted fate too much
.,and if they don't get to use it i'll put it in the loft for many yrs to come!!
