Is anyone around the Haslingden/Ramsbottom area? I've got to drive up there tomorrow afternoon for a few days and I've heard there's a bit of snow around...

Been snowing in Northampton since about 5.30am. Light, but looking at the radar I wouldn't be surprised if it carries on for most of today!

One thing I've noticed today - how hard has it been to reliably track winds? We seem to have gone from a SE wind, to an easterly, to NE and even now tracking this showers from the coast is hard!
Yeah there's a lot of fuss in the MOD thread about a surprise shortwave which is looking to extend the easterly and potentially bring us more days of showers piling in off the coast. As close as 72hours!

I think everywhere except Northampton has had a bit of snow today
Radar has a massive snow shield in full swing!

Northampton/Pitsford: 3.3*C temp, -4*C dew point. Has definitely dropped a few degrees since this morning.

Look at the radar to the east, looks like it's moving this way. wellingborough was clear 1 hour ago, now its nearly knocking on the door.

I'm one to take the BBC's forecast with a pinch of salt, but it's saying heavy snow tonight for Northampton on the website. Are we missing something here?

Finally snowing in Northampton. Slightly fine flakes but it's coming down fairly quickly.

It's actually still coming down here in HArpole - albeit a little lighter than it has been the last hour. Decent sized, flakes, too. I expect it to fizzle out within the hour though really.

Looking West from Northampton and there's some massive dark grey clouds overhead, nothing on radar though which is odd! Maybe some surprise snow on the way?
