Been to team valley this morning, main roads are passable, but there is still alot of snow around

Nice pictures,
Whilst i was in the garden today, we saw quite a few aircraft, helicopters as well, heading from Boulmer down to the airshow, the flight path is in that direction, unfortunately we never saw the Red Arrows, usually they fly right over us, but this year for some unknown reason , they went in another direction, we could hear them , but not see them

Nice picture, yep i noticed the mammatus too,, went really dark here then the heavens opened, more on the way, Looking at Nw radar there is more on the way
-
Its BLACK as night around Tynemouth i say, lightning is very infrequent despite how dark the base of the cloud is. Whoever is under that shower must be getting one mighty of a downpour. Typical its only about 5-8 miles away from me
where did that lot come from , its chucking it down now, and the sky has gone really dark {just maybe}a chance

Nothing up this way, just yet!

Small world hey! I live close to Barr Beacon and Scott Arms and I agree, Barr Beacon is a great place for viewing storms or cloud structure as there is nothing obstructing your view, apart from a few pylons
I used to live down in Appleton Avenue,
Anyway we used to go to the Barr Beacon when we use to be on the Cb radios , now i am showing my age
Not sure how high the Barr Beacon actually is but its a great viewing place
-
More to come from the West judging by the radar. The leading edge of that last shower looked really amazing and nasty but unfortunately I didn't manage to get a pic of that. Camera is ready now though
Evening Simon
Nice pictures, which part of the Barr Beacon were you at, i spent many a day up there, in my younger days, its a very good advantage point to watch the storms coming in , but only disadvantage is that there is no shelter apart from your car!, I used to live down the road , by the Scott Arms

125.8mm so far after just 19 days Well above average, nearly 2 months rain in 19 days ,Not bad

A much welcome relief today here in the North East, yes the SUN keeps popping out , fROM BEHIND THOSE cUMULUS CLOUDS WHICH KEEEPI DRIFTING ACROSS,
Temperature is a rather pleasant 18.1c at the moment, with a Gentle WNW breeze {will not last for long though} rain on the way this afternoon
Im currently in the garden in just shorts and vest, trying to get the front garden sorted,
We really need a decent dry spell, so i can get the lawns cut
-
MW radio still crackling every now and again, also dogs barking like anything across the road, NO THUNDER yet though
However there are more heavy showers passing through at the minute, total amount of rain for month now accumulated to 123.2mm
most of that accumulated yesteday

That doesnt surprise me at all Nigel, your area's been stuck under yellow & red radar returns since the early hours!, plus all the convective rain that you've had the past few days...I'd be interested to see what rivers are currently under flood warnings in your neck of the woods!
18 flood warnings out at the moment
