Roger J Smith

Will turn 70 on June 3rd, 2019.

Born in Birmingham and moved to Canada at age of seven in 1957. 

Lived in Ontario 1957 to 1995 then British Columbia since then.

Lifelong interest in global climate, severe weather and snowfall (including forecasting).

Free speech activist often involved in court cases (in Canada) to determine standards for internet discussion forums (donations welcome, court is expensive even when you represent yourself as I have done).

My politics are more libertarian than alt-right conservative but I am by no means a leftist anyway. But I recall with some fondness the good old days when you could have political debates and back and forth without risking a major triggering of over-sensitive snowflake types. That would be maybe 1970s-80s, too bad things aren't like that now (the internet records everything in a conversation and opens it up to global scrutiny including that of predatory lawsuit seekers).

Passionate about golf which I still play with some demonstrated skill, and soccer which I don't play any more at this age. . 

Favourite destinations -- Utah and surrounding states for back country camping, local mountains, west coast incl Oregon, Ireland and UK.
