Probably the best thunderstorm I have seen in a very, long while! I managed to catch my very first boilt of lightning on camera too Very pleased!

[M40 South Bound Mini Lightning Storm 28/11/2010]

Hope I am not going mad but, I just witnessed my first storm of the year coming home from Banbury. I thought at first it was someone flashing their lights from on coming traffic - it was not. Very nice surprise, just unfortunate I couldn't stop to film it. Any body else witness this little gem?

Talk about being lucky there. I think lightning + a gas leak is a seriously bad idea

I diddn't know there was a gas leak till a day later. There was lightning which hit the street around 1pm ish.

Personally, I think you are all jumping the gun just a little bit with this rain. That's all it feels like with me, just heavy rain. On the other hand tho, If it does turn into something other than heavy rain its just my luck that it will happen on a sunday night, when most of us have work in the morning!! lol. I don't think I am going to bother to stay up and watch this one.

I feel this summer has been a huge disappointment. At least I can say, I have herd one crack of thunder this year but that is all I feel our so called uk super cells are dissapearing more and more as each year goes by.

Approxmently 1:30pm this afternoon, Queen Street in Oxford got struck by lightning. It was extreemly loud and sounded like a bomb going off. Police had to shut down queen street for nearly an hour, with ambulance present. No photos unfortantly, it all happend very, very quickly. Just thought I share this because it is actually very rare for a street so close to home get hit like that.

All I can say is I bloody wish I had my video camera with me today, the snow in oxford this afternoon was absolutly amazing. It came down so hard (did not settel mind you) like a blizzard. And check this, we have snow on the ground in didcot 2-3cms. Fantastic day overall.
