  1. for the last few days many of us (me included) have been hung up over yesterday and tomorrow's wintry event with page after page of 'will it snow in xxxx?'.....'upgrade/downgrade at T24'.....and other north/south debate/arguments....It is so refreshing to see the model hunt for cold thread getting back on track and looking at the longer term, and with longer term output looking promising, it's good to see the mood lift in here and hopefully the pettiness and point scoring stopping (at least for a while)
  2. the way the models are seemingly trending thursday's wintry stuff southwards, I'll take a punt that the sweet spot will be the Straits of Gibraltar
  3. 25 exclamation marks in one sentence.....You're not related are you? back to serious matter, how many meters has the snow line moved on the 12z ECM?
  4. getting really fed up of those who give Shaky grief for nuances in thursday snow line.....if you zoom in on the UKMO, GFS, GFS(P) and ECM charts and look closely, it's patently obvious that the snowline moved from Shaky's front garden, to old Mrs Giles bungalow across the road!
  5. started off as 1 hour rain here on the Marlborough Down nr Swindon and for the last 30 mins has been moderate snow Paul, and surprisingly settling readily as the undercut digs in.....currently 2.1C with a dewpoint of -0.4C for reference
  6. just checked my GPS......you need to move NNE at a brisk walk to the bathroom otherwise you might wee urpantz
  7. just thought I'd pop in as I'm bordering this region and the SW regional.....rain earlier, now big fat flakes of snow, moderate in intensity....looking very good for areas further east towards London and further on this evening!....good luck!
  8. I'm in my living room having just relocated from the poop room if that helps?
  9. wet snow here now, started as rain, moved to sleet and now proper snow with nice big flakes....little chance of settling, far to wet and not enough to come
  10. just had a perusal of the Can't Forecast Sh** model...(or CFS for short) and it has a monster siberian block retrogressing into Scandi throughout a good chunk of February and March.....What could go wrong?......(Can't post charts as I'm too lazy)
  11. we had the same here as well....just as well as I had to scrape some off the floor to add to my morning coffee as we'd run out.....hmm, the coffee tasted a bit funky, this natural sugar malarky is not all it's cracked up to be
  12. So you're the good Aaron, Crewe's the bad Aaron.....why am I always the bloody ugly one?........I'll fetch me coat
  13. that's the A36 to Frome, 1st left at the roundabout, pick up the A4 to Calne, A342 to Andover and then the A303 to the M3 junction and bob's your uncle......please IDO at least show some semblance of accuracy and plausibility!
  14. you are a nightmare!....lololol right, to save a lot of time and effort.....I'll post this now, so it will save you posting later... "ICON!!!.......WTF!!!!!....SNOW!!!......10 MILES North or South on the latest run?!!!!....Midlands?!!!!" lol....now go and spend some time with your wife and kids for a couple of hours otherwise they'll think you're having an affair with a doris who's called 'Netty Weather"
  15. Now you're just being silly....tsk tsk and I thought better of a former mod colleague.... I get the alien invasion bit, very plausible.....but what's all this nonsense about white stuff falling out of the sky? lol
  16. definite signs of a north/south divide here......members north of Brum ..."I think the north looks the sweet spot, GFS et al always correct this way".....members south of Brum...."I think the south and midlands look the sweet spot, GFS et al always correct southwards this way".......Me?.....why can't the GFS et al ever have a sweet spot approximately 3 miles south of the M4, just to the south of Swindon....lol but getting back on topic, for us snow starved members, the variances of current modelling has us treading on eggshells, just a small change to track and orientation on the incoming weather systems will have a huge difference in what falls out of the sky!
  17. Its nip and tuck here at 150m asl near swindon.....both Tuesday and Thursday could be wet cold and miserable or could be snowy cold and wonderful!..... This does remind me of dec 2017 where we managed to get several cm of snow yet just 10 miles to my west and south and lower down it was just rain and sleet.....fingers crossed
  18. Shaky, you get excited on here 24 hours a day, regardless of the weather ... lol.... Knife edge time for me sat along the M4 corridor...will it, wont it?
  19. what you really mean is 'Will it snow in Leicester, or more precisely my back garden?".....go on !!!! admit it !!!!!... lol
  20. Darn Sarf here, 3 flakes in the wind is classed as a 'significant event'......lol
  21. Just had a quick look at the models........looks like I could be getting a right dumping sometime this week, that's what happens when you chow down 'Ex-Lax' tablets like smarties.......I'll fetch me coat
  22. I'm quite overwhelmed by all the "boom's" in here tonight, and it's very ironic that if you say "BOOM" backwards, you say what I'm developing in the chest area as a side effect to middle age spread......it's an omen.....either that or I need to lay off the pies, chocolate, beer and kebabs
