    Going to be rather soggy thanks to Storm Babet over the next few days. Here's a rainfall total accumulation forecast from the BBC forecast this morning.

    A second person, in his 60s, has been arrested after the beloved Sycamore Gap tree was brutally chopped down, police revealed Detective Chief Inspector Rebecca Fenney-Menzies said: “I hope this second arrest demonstrates just how seriously we're taking this situation, and our ongoing commitment to find those responsible and bring them to justice.”

    Northumbria Police said a 16-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage in connection with the felling of the Sycamore Gap Tree. The boy remains in custody and is assisting officers with their inquires, the force said.

    It was right over my bungalow, lol Many streets in my village still without power. I feel lucky to be able to watch tonight's rugby !

    Wow, I've never know a storm like that .. as close to constant lightening as possible. Thunder rolling rather than really loud. High gusts of wind and absolutely torrential rainfall. Power off and on a couple of times. That was quite an experience !! BL

    In the last hour we've had a little cloud cover which has helped it feel more comfy I think . Most of the day here though its been a scorcher. I registered 29 C. Hoping to get some of the rain showers .. but we shall see. BL

    Just to wish the local folks .. Happy Yorkshire Day I felt the need of a light jacket for my walks today. Just the merest 'mizzle' rain, mostly dry and overcast. I'd rather this than baking .. but its not great for holiday makers and businesses I understand.

    Fair enough. I wasn't at all sure a negative reaction would be a benefit. I still feel a heart emoticon would be nice as sometimes a 'like' isn't appropriate. (Though it comes up as a heart shape) I can just reply underneath with a better response I know.

    Yikes ! I had the front door open watching the rain and we just had the most enormous thunderbolt .. I don't think I have ever heard louder .. made me squeal ! lol BL.
