    Well a nice Shepard's warning sunrise here in sw london as to whether or not its for snow sleet or rain is another question.

    Looking forward to todays runs to see if that LP tracks further sw.

    Just seen the latest BBC forecast and it does seem to track further sw but it also seems to fizzle out pretty quickly. Quite a change from yesterdays BBC forecast

    Looking at the charts this morning it looks as though the snow risk for the Grampians has been downgraded.Has anyone else noticed this or am i just reading them wrong

    We are in for some fun today on the model thread due to this -

    Easterly in FI

    Am sure there will be plenty of carnage, Easterlies always kick things off..

    Tuesday looks busy and the fax chart is loaded with effects of that low, ppn all over the place - a minefield for predicting snow. Onto the radar for tomorrow I think and nowcasting.

    Upper temps (UKMO) look good - PPN charts have absolute downpours off the east coast - a little breeze and the East Coast gets a decent delivery.

    Plenty of the wet stuff around but difficult to determine what it will be. Highlands getting a good renewal of the white stuff, with wintry effects elsewhere.

    I expect people today at work will be noticing the cold again and moaning about ' am fed up with snow' .

    They forget how cold March can be..

    On our way back from Tal Y Bont this afternoon and we about 10 miles away from Bala, we came across a Funnel Cloud, We stopped to take pictures but couldnt see if it had touched down anywhere. Has there been other reports in that area?

    This was my first siting and we stopped a bit furhter on and you could see the funnel twisting.

    It wasnt particulary stormy but it started to go a bit dark and rain.

    Hi WW, I'm not saying that there wont be any settling snow South of the pennines, there already is some around now. Its just that the models have been soo bad, ALL OF THEM :rolleyes: that I cant help but feel that a more realistic view of things is required in the FORUM. 99% of us are ramping snow and many of the comments re everything will shift further south are coming from people in the south, so its very biased to say the least. And I dont particularly care if things are looking rosey for later in February or March, and people in the North should not want this snow because its bad for cold prospects (true of course ;) ), who's telling them that, mainly people in the South of course!

    I think we should just take what we can get, we should consider ourselves privilaged that we are getting anything at all if we consider how bad things have been this winter and time is running out fast!

    I know we should take what we can get but i dont want to see snow for a couple of hours only for it to be melted away shortly after.

    But then again i would enjoy the couple of hours of snow so you are probably right
