  1. Accuweather phone app still suggesting light snow here for Wednesday morning. 60% probability of precipitation
  2. I often see the Chapmans van making deliveries - last Monday, we had lying snow on rooftops and grass but nothing on the pavements. Knockholt and Halstead on the north downs probably did better. As you drive up Star Lane towards Knockholt, you can often see the snow line half way across the farmers field.
  3. From the 6 weather apps on my phone, only accuweather is showing snow for Wednesday morning, although the app does claim to have ‘superior accuracy’
  4. My hope is building for a push north from Wednesdays low. 100 miles is a small but required margin in these scenarios. It’s still very possible.
  5. Steady as she goes for this mornings output. Minor changes as to be expected, but certainly not a capitulation to mild SW’s. More runs needed.
  6. Jam tomorrow. At least the models are showing drier conditions, and a few frosts will help firm up the sodden ground.
  7. I suspect, sadly, there’s a halfway house coming - the ECM is rarely incorrect.
  8. For the next 2 weeks - it’s typical post 1985 November Fayre weather - jet stream driven: mild, wet and windy.
  9. Too early for cold on these shores. Although I feel the pattern is shaping up nicely for the coming winter. As others have already mentioned, the models are reminiscent of 2009, which delivered pre Christmas snow, and a very cold and snowy January 2010.
  10. ECM was spot on for today. Beautiful in the south east - played golf and the weather was delightful. I’m enjoying the alleged Global Warming during an El Niño year.
