  1. @Thunders I'm eastbourne too, and despite being absolutely shattered I just woke up and I don't think I'm going back to sleep. I'm top floor victorian property almost on the seafront.. and the walls and floor are vibrating.. I can hear the building creaking.. its a wee bit noisy.. and wow its howling.
  2. Wouldn't say no to a tornado, or rather a Waterspout, Can't believe I missed the one out dungeoness. Was intending to go to Eastbourne for the airshow today - wanted to see the Chinnook, am guessing it might well be a bit of a wash out.
  3. Well the whole system split either side of us, hitting Brighton and on the other side dungeoness/Dover, if only it had been darker we would have caught some distant lightning, as it was we had four flashes. Impressive wind pick up and biblical rain briefly but nowhere near as exciting as anything amazing that’s been reported.
  4. Sitting down here in Bexhil on sea watching clouds scoot past, sorts of different options on what's going to happen, would be interested to know what you guys think
  5. What a night. I don’t think I’ve seen so much lightning in one evening, the bonus of living by the channel I guess. Like most events this year the main party happened either further east or further west but have a channel side seat allowed for distant viewing from 8pm until now. a couple of cells produced overhead, but as always seems the way they seemed to slow down as they traveled over and pep up again once past the bexhill bubble! still an amazing night. There is footage and photos of tonight and last night, will upload when I’ve trawled through it all.
  6. It's painful when you are stuck literally half an hour away from a great view point, a view point which blocks the view from where you are lol
  7. depressingly quiet here in Bexhill, all forecasts I’ve seen for here over the last 24hours have so far been completely wrong. Everything west of Beachy head again. That first train to eastbourne is looking a desperate temptation
  8. Sitting up in Bexhill regretting the decision not to sleep, what looked oh so promising now looks like a nothing for us tonight. I. Must. Learn. To.drive
  9. *cry* nudge that further east please so we can see from the other side of Beachy head
  10. Can only chase on foot so we will be lurking in a shelter on bexhill seafront
  11. Enjoying the warm evening air, though wouldn’t mind a tad less humidity.. glad you added the edit, because that’s the kind of thing I’d forget to put and end up frazzled
  12. @bluebell ps you’re already doing better than me, I don’t even drive so like eagle and lightning lover I’m stuck where my feet can take me, which will be down the the prom as always
  13. A few years and you'll be flying all over the place! I want a campervan so I've got everything on hand
  14. I’d argue more West Sussex than East Sussex but that’s me splitting hairs! Usually see them approaching in the distance in the west and then they see Beachy head and the South Downs and veer more northward. I can’t count how many charts I’ve seen with a clear sky over Bexhill lol. time to join in the rain/thunder dance.
  15. Hogging? Down here on the south east coast we’ve not had a proper storm, though I’m beginning to suspect that is due to the Bexhill old folks anti storm bubble. Any way, hoping for a proper old fashioned Sussex smasher, not the limp biscuits we’ve watched pass us by.
  16. Lots of rain resulting in puddles and wet feet. would have loved a closer hit though, that’s twice in the last two days a fab storm has been just put of reach but close enough to tease. need to work on teleporting skills
  17. Bexhill just had Beautiful skies, interesting motion within the clouds, lots of distant thunder, one visible CG and some CC in the distance over the channel, huge connective drops, soaked within seconds! A close call but again the Bexhill storm bubble held and we missed a direct hit. IMG_3658.MOV
  18. Had some seriously impressive skies, saw a couple of lots of distant lightning, one very visible CG Norman’s Bay Area maybe further west. Heard quite a bit of thunder from it and got absolutely soaked.
  19. That tiny cell that suddenly appeared south of bexhill in the channel quickly grew to hold a small but hefty downpour of large noisy convective drops, of course it electrified as it left the bounderies of Bexhill and is now merrily bumbling around north of us. Keeping a firm eye on the channel
