    That’s not really the point I was trying to make. It’s the frequency of warnings for something that was once considered seasonal weather that’s making people blasé. if this goes amber, I’ll be sure to have my brolly handy.

    That’s the problem, warning are issued on such a regular basis nowadays, the novelty has worn off and the vast majority of people just ignore them.

    What are people’s thoughts on the chances of wildfires breaking out during the heatwave? My mother’s garden backs onto farmland and it’s like a tinderbox. One spark or piece of glass magnifying the sun and whoosh, it could go up a treat. I’ve got the hosepipe out and on standby lol. Seriously pretty worrying though.

    Just finished replacing our ridge tiles, it’s still carnage around the town of Thorne, some poor folk have lost entire roofs and gable ends. No more tornadoes please, one in a lifetime is more than enough!

    We’re in Thorne, it was very localised, just a few streets got hit but the damage is extreme. I’ll try to post some photos.

    We’ve definitely had a tornado here. Ridge tiles down all over our estate, even a gable end on one house has collapsed. Never heard a noise like it before. Fire engines are out in force, I’d be surprised if this doesn’t make the news.

    I live in Doncaster and we’ve had a major incident declared for flooding, it’s dry as a bone at the moment with the main rain band much further north according to the radar. With what we’ve dealt with in previous years people are obviously very worried but the warnings are very confusing at times. I’m a complete layman when it comes to the weather but I do trust this site for more accurate information than the mainstream ones, which at times do tend to contradict each other. I fear us ordinary folk could become complacent with these frequent warnings “crying wolf “ and not take them seriously when the need really does arise.
