  1. MWIS going with sleet/snow for the Cairngorms on Saturday. It will certainly feel autumnal tomorrow with those NE winds.
  2. Another cold and dry start. Car display -10c at the house dropping to -13.5c a few miles before Westhill heading into Aberdeen.
  3. On the subject of March and cold temperatures, the lowest March night was back in 1958 at Logie Cloldstone, well named , where the temperatures hit -22c-ish. Logie Cloldstone is near Aboyne, Aberdeenshire. I suspect that record will never be beaten.
  4. Temperatures already well below zero. Noticed -7.5c on the commute, -6.5c at the house. Massive clouds looking towards the north sea.
  5. Well, the removal of the yellow warnings means I don't have to fork out £1200 on a set of run flat winter tyres. My current set were removed weeks ago after failing the MOT. Not bad considering I had nearly ten years out of them. Every cloud and silver linings.
  6. A cold start with further snowfall overnight. Car display was showing-10.5c heading to work. Zero problems on the commute, the cold air has left the roads bone dry. Lowest temperature I noted was just before Westhill on the approach to Aberdeen. Temperatures are expected to drop further around 7am.
  7. Cairngorm mountain reporting 35cm of snowfall in the last 24 hours.
  8. Aberdeen city centre 30 minutes ago. 20230307_062845.mp4
  9. Couple of pictures from today's commute. Dunecht heading to Aberdeen. Aberdeen city center.
  10. Aberdeen getting hit pretty hard at the moment. Roads in the city closed due to treacherous conditions. 20230307_062845.mp4
  11. Day 3 under a yellow weather warning. -1c, light snow. Total depth 1-2cm.
  12. A dusting of snow around the house with temperatures slightly below zero. At this point, a yellow warning feels over the top. See what tomorrow brings.
  13. No snow this morning although the roads have a fair bit of standing water on them. Temperatures are still on the high side for snow, that may change today. Gritters were out in force in Aberdeen around 6am, most of which were spreading copious amounts of salt. Braemar webcam showing a similar wet theme
  14. It's been around eleven weeks since it last snowed around these parts. But apparently tonight 9pm heavy snow incoming. Temperatures seem a bit on the high side
  15. The government alternative fuel payment, if you rely on oil for central heating for example,is now being paid out. £200 was dropped into my account with Octopus energy today. Apologies if this information has been posted before.
