  1. As that seems to be a perfectly good reason for not making the Entry deadline, I've invited Seaside 60 into the Competition and will not impose a penalty forfeit. Therefore, I will wait until the Morning to post up some Betting Odds, on each Entrants chamce of winning the Competition. Forgot to mention, I will also apply a cut-off Date for Category 2, which like Category 1 will be 30th April. More details on that, Tomorrow. Regards, Tom.

ANTONYBR7 Tuesday 18th February Atletico Madrid 2-2 Liverpool MATCH OF THE NIGHT Borussia Dortmund 2-0 Paris Saint-Germain Wednesday 19th February Atalanta 0-1 Valencia Tottenham Hotspur 1-1 RB Leipzig MATCH OF THE NIGHT. Tuesday 25th February Chelsea 1-1 Bayern Munich MATCH OF THE NIGHT. Napoli 1-2 Barcelona Wednesday 26th February Lyon 0-2 Juventus Real Madrid 2-2 Manchester City MATCH OF THE NIGHT. 3. I have now sent out those PM's and thanks to Bobd29 and Feblizzard1991, for your prompt replies. I just want to elaborate on and adjust the Scoring System, for each Category. CATEGORY 1: Predict the next Date of "Settling Snow", in the S.E. Region. Just a dusting will count but NOT Hail. Should your prediction correspond to the exact next Date of "Settling Snow" in the S.E.Region, you will receive £10 of "Virtual" Monetary Credits. Should your prediction be 24 Hours either side of that Date, you will receive £2.50 of "Virtual" Monetary Credits. **NB** - KENTSPUR - has predicted no "Settling Snow" and should he be correct in his prediction, will receive £10 of "Virtual" Monetary Credits. I will apply a bit of Climatology to FiftyShadesofSnow's prediction of 15th Jan.2021. I will impose a "cut-off" date of 30th April, for "Settling Snow", in the S.E.Region. Although historically not unheard of, should "Settling Snow" not have been recorded by 30th April, its highly unlikely to occur after, this Date. I don't want the Competition to be unresolved, by the end of Spring. Therefore, should there have been no "Settling Snow" by 30th April, FiftyShadesofSnow will receive £10 of "Virtual" Monetary Credits. CATEGORY 2: - 4 parts to this Category (Date/Storm Name/S/Forecast Area, Value of central pressure in millibars). You will receive £5 of "Virtual" Monetary Credits, for each correct part. CATEGORY 3: - Predict the exact Date and Temp. (to the nearest degree Celsius), of the last AIR Frost of the Season, in the South East Region. If your predictions correspond to the exact Date and Temperature, you will receive £10 of "Virtual" Monetary Credits for each correct part. Should your Date prediction be 24 Hours, either side of the exact Date, you will receive £2.50 of "Virtual" Monetary Credits. Should your Temperature prediction be within 0.5c, either side of the exact Temperature, you will receive £2.50 of "Virtual" Monetary Credits. CATEGORY 4: - Predict the FIRST Date that 21c (70f), is recorded in the South East Region. If your prediction correspond to the exact Date, you will receive £10 of "Virtual" Monetary Credits. Should your prediction be 24 Hours, either side of the exact Date, you will receive £2.50 of "Virtual" Monetary Credits. A little later, I will put on my Bookmaker's hat, and create a "Book" (formulate Betting Odds, for each Entrants entry). You will be allocated "Virtual" Stakes of £10. £5 to place on your own prediction and £5 to place on one other Entrant's predictions. Any "Virtual" Returns gained from these "Virtual" Wagers, will be added to any "Virtual" Monetary Credits. The Entrant that has accrued the most "Virtual" Monetary Credits, shall be deemed the Winner. More details on this part of the Competition, later. Regards, Tom.
  4. Apologies, for my no show last Night but it was Family Film Night, and it would've been rude for me to start using my Computer. In a short while, I will be sending out PM's to Bobd29, Daniel, Febblizzard1991, Fifty Shades of Snow, Kentspur and Lottiekent, for a little bit of extra predicting. This mainly concerns, Category 2. Regards, Tom.
  5. Afternoon all, From a brightening S.E.London, now that Dennis has done his worst. Below, is the final list of Entrants, into the NW Weather Predicting Competition: ANTONYBR7 (Guest, Son), B87, BOBD29, CHEESEPUFFSCOTT, CLARET047, CLASSYLADY, DANIEL, FEBBLIZZARD1991, FIFTY SHADES OF SNOW, KENTSPUR, KIRKCALDY WEATHER, LEWIS028, LOTTIEKENT, SEPTIC PEG (Guest, Wife), JOHN STEVENS and TOMSE12. A few of you, havn't quite completed Category 2 but I will send those Entrants a PM, requesting a little more predicting. It mainly concerns, in which Shipping Forecast Area, will the last named Storm of this Season, attain its lowest central Pressure (in Millibars). So, we have a tidy entry of sixteen. I was expecting a few more Entries from the South East Regional Thread. I did leave a reminder on that Thread but those Members, obviously declined to enter. They were, in the most part, original Entrants into S,E, Regional Member, snowray's "Settling Snow" Cup. A little later, I will Post up details of the Scoring System I've devised, for the Competition. This will feature, "Virtual" Monetary Credits, for correct predictions. Tomorrow, after going through your predictions with a "fine-tooth comb", I will put my Bookmaker's hat on, and "make a Book" (formulate some Betting Odds), on the outcome of the Competition. You will be allocated some "Virtual" Stakes to place on your own predictions, and those of one other Entrant. Any "Virtual" Returns gained from these Wagers, will be credited to your "balance", and go towards determining the Result of the Competition. More on that, later. Thank you. Regards, Tom.
  6. Hi B.B., Congratulations, nice one. Yes, tremendous performance by Balyoptic and Sam Twiston-Davies. A very good weight carrying display and shows you that if a Horse appreciates really testing going, a lot of weight won't necessarily stop them. It's strange how certain Trainers Horses, seem to like really testing ground. Can remember "getting on" Nigel Twiston-Davies', Earth Summit, when the Heavens opened a Day or so before the 1998 Grand National. As has been mentioned on ITV Racing, Venetia Williams is also in that category. I would suggest, David Pipe too. Onwards and upwards, as we head towards the penultimate Saturday, of the Competition. Three Meetings on the Menu, which will feature Kempton's, Bookmaker sponsored highlight (I still refer to it as the Racing Post Chase), Newcastle's gruelling Eider Chase, over 4+ Miles. We also have action on Lingfield's All Weather surface, the feature being the Winter Derby Stakes. Have a good Week all, and watch out for my next venture - the CHELTENHAM FESTIVAL COMPETITION Week. It will run from Tuesday March 10th (featuring all 4 Days, of the Cheltenham Festival) and end on Saturday 14th March, with Uttoxeter's Midlands Grand National Meeting, which will bring the curtain down, on what should be a fantastic Week's Racing, and has always been by far, my favourite Week of the Racing Calendar. Regards, Tom.
  7. Below, is an image of the "hard copy" of the Current Standings Table, after Yesterday's, Competition Races: There's now just a "fag paper" between K/WEATHER and BRISTLE BOY!! K/WEATHER, landed his NAP, RIDERS ONTHE STORM (7/2), and also found impressive "Victor Ludorum" Winner, SIR PSYCHO (Evens Fav). BRISTLE BOY, found all 3 Winners of the ASCOT/HAYDOCK GRADE 2 TRIXIE (COPPERHEAD 6/1, EMITOM 7/4 and SIR PSYCHO). He also had BALLYOPTIC (8/1). TOMSE12 moves into 3rd place, after also landing the ASCOT/HAYDOCK GRADE 2 TRIXIE. He also had RIDERS ONTHE STORM. ANTONYBR7 leaps up to 4th, just ahead of his Stepmother. He found impressive Ascot Winner NORDANA (8/1), and also had, RIDERS ONTHE STORM. CASSIE/SE12 didn't set the World alight, on her 10th Wedding Anniversary, and notched just the one Winner, the appropriately named EMITOM (7/4), so drops to 5th. LASSIE23, also had a poor Afternoon and could only register two placed Selections, so slides down to 6th. SUMMER SUN, struggled as well and just found the one Winner, SIR PSYCHO and a couple of placed Selections, and remains somewhat detached, in 7th. It's building up to be a "nail-biter" of a finish. BRISTLE BOY has come with a "wet sail" to get within £2.06 of K/WEATHER, with just two Saturdays left in the Competition. I've had a really tiring couple of Days but look out for the Cheltenham Festival Week Competition Thread, which I will begin Tomorrow. Regards, Tom
  8. Just a quick reminder, the entry deadline for the Competition has now expired. Much thanks to the above Members who posted Entries Today. I will Post up a final list of Entrants Tomorrow, plus details of the Scoring System I've devised, for the Competition. Thank you. Regards, Tom.
  9. Hi Callum, Yes sorry, I noticed my mistake when I was going through your Selections, to calculate your Returns. My apologies but fortunately I did put you on Riders on the Storm, for your NAP, which btw gained you an extra 2 Bonus Points on its S.P. I will now Post up each Entrant's "Virtual" Returns from Today's Competition Races, including any "V"/R, gained from Categories 12 and 14: SAT.15th FEB CATEGORIES 12/14 "VIRTUAL" RETURNS TOTAL ANTONYBR7 - 26.00 10.00 36.00 BRISTLE BOY - 32.94 25.56 58.50 CASSIE/SE12 - 6.32 0.76 7.08 K/WEATHER - 22.44 1.05 23.49 LASSIE23 - 4.63 NIL 4.63 SUMMER SUN - 8.25 1.56 9.81 TOMSE12 - 30.94 24.12 55.06 I will Post the updated Current Standings Table, Tomrrow Morning plus some comments on each Entrant's performance, in this Afternoon's Competition Races. QUOTE: "In a short while, I will Post up details of the Scoring System I'll be using, to determine the Result of the Competition". This will have to wait until Tomorrow now, as I've had to do some rearranging of my Horse Racing Competition, due to the inclement Weather. Regards, Tom.

  14. Thanks S.Q.1, Poor Colette has had to do an early Morning shift, at the Chislehurst Care Home where she works. But I've told her, under no circumstances is she to stay on and do a double shift, on our Wedding Anniversary. I don't care if they're short staffed, especially after that insulting £5 Amazon Gift Voucher "Christmas Box", that the Staff were given.(Btw, Colette hasn't received hers yet!!).An en suite Room costs the Resident £1,500 per Week and if the Residents don't have any savings, Bromley Social Services have to pay BUPA. So, someone is seeing that money but it certainly isn't the Staff!! No doubt the CEO, is doing ok. I know I'm biased but I happen to think it's a national disgrace, how little importance we attach to caring for the ill and elderley, in this Country. Right, I'll get off my Soapbox now. Meanwhile in Weather news, the rain from Dennis is knocking on our door. https://en.meteox.com/ Regards, Tom.

  16. Morning all, Thanks to Callum and Lassie ^^^^ above. I'll get those entered up. Just heard that we've lost Wincanton. So, I've got to find a replacement for LEG 3 of the (Ascot/Haydock/Wincanton Trixie). Think the logical thing would be for ITV to Broadcast the 2.40 Haydock (Victor Ludorum Juvenile Hurdle). So I will Substitute this Race, in the hope that ITV Broadcast it Live. See Racing Post link, to Race below. Please Copy/Paste your Selection into the Box, provided below: https://www.racingpost.com/racecards/23/haydock/2020-02-15/749462/ Haydock - 2.40 - Selection - I will send out a "Sticky Note" to BRISTLE BOY, K/WEATHER, LASSIE23 and SUMMER SUN, informing them of this "Substitute Race." Regards, Tom.
  17. Much Thanks to classylady and lewis028 above. I'll get your predictions entered up, into my Competition Folder. I now have nine completed Entries, and a few uncompleted ones. Just a quick reminder, the entry deadline expires at 9 PM Tonight. In a short while, I will Post up details of the Scoring System I'll be using, to determine the Result of the Competition. Regards, Tom.
  18. Morning all, Want to give a final reminder to those S.E.Regional Members looking to enter my Weather predicting Competition, as Claret047 pointed out Yesterday, it's NOT on the Lounge Thread but in the Weather Discussion Forum. See link below. Weather Predicting Competition! Hope you're all paying attention and listen very carefully as I will say 'zis only once more!! The entry deadline for the Competition, expires at 9 PM Tonight. Looks like "Dennis the Menace" is going to gatecrash, mine and my Wife's 10th Wedding Anniversay, with no repeat of the Snow Grains we experienced outside Sidcup Registry Office, in 2010. Hope you all have an enjoyable Day, and stay safe!! Regards, Tom.
  19. Much Thanks to K/WEATHER, SUMMER SUN and LASSIE above ^^^^^, I'll get those entered up. But as S.S. has pointed out, the Racing has to survive Morning Inspections and "Dennis the Menace", could well have the last laugh and spoil our fun, Tomorrow. Fingers crossed!! Regards, Tom.

  21. As claret047 pointed out above, my Competition is NOT in the Lounge Forum, it's in the Weather Discussion Forum. Apologies! For those of you wanting to enter the Competition but aren't sure what to do, I recently Posted my Wife's, my Son's and my Predictions, on the Thread. See link below: https://www.netweather.tv/forum/topic/93240-nw-weather-predicting-competition/ But don't be mad and copy my predictions, I'm the worst "Judge" of all!! Regards, Tom.
  22. I will now Post up the predictions of myself and my 2 Guests, Wife Colette (Septic Peg) and Son Antony (AntonyBR7) ANTONYBR7 (Guest) CATEGORY 1: (next date of "Settling Snow, in the S.E.Region) - Mon.9th March. 23. Morning all, And a Happy, albeit snowless, Valentine's Day to all the female Members of the S.E.Thread. You'll be pleased to hear, I remembered a Card for "Septic" (Wife Colette). Poor thing went off to work at 6.15, for her early Morning shift. I've given her strict instructions, not to work on this Afternoon. Likewise Tomorrow, she has an early Morning shift but Tomorrow is our 10th Wedding Anniversary, evidently our Diamond Anniversary but I can't afford a Diamond, so I've bought her a humungous box of Chocolates. Like my original prediction in snowray's Snow Competition, Colette's choice of Tomorrow, will also bite the dust. And we won't see a repeat of Snow grains on our Wedding Day, as we saw outside Sidcup Registry Office, in 2010. I hope this is ok with Malcolm but I do need to return to my Weather predicting Competition, briefly. As I stated a few Days ago, I have carried forward those Members predictions (post 20th Feb), to my new Weather predicting Competition but the great majority of you, have only predicted Category 1 (next date of settling Snow), there are another 3 Categories. Category 2 - Predict the exact and final date, of the last named North Atlantic Storm, and it's name, to enter the Shipping Forecast area. The name of the Shipping area, it first enters and its central Barometric Pressure, at that time. Category 3 - Predict the exact Date and Temperature (to the nearest degree Celsius), of the last AIR Frost of the Season. Category 4:- Predict the FIRST Date that 21c (70f), is recorded in the South East Region. The following S.E. Members need to complete all these Categories, if they're going to have a chance of winning a wonderful, "Virtual" Prize: Chertseystreamer79, classylady, Jimmyh, Sleety, snowray, Stainesbloke, Steve Murr and Mark Wheeler. The following Members need to complete Category 2, with their prediction of the date and central pressure of the last named Storm, when it enters the Shipping Forecast areas, at that time: Claret047, Kentspur, Lewis028, Lottiekent and John Stevens. Don't worry, if you're not considering to continue, in my Competition. But if you do, could you please Post your predictions, on my Competition Thread, in the Lounge Forum. Thank you. Sorry to be so fastidious but it's a legacy of working for a Bookmaker, where ambiguity is a Bookmaker's enemy and a Punter's friend. A few Years before I became to ill to work, I was given the task of rewriting our Betting Rule Book and I'm sure Lassie (a much valued Patron of my Horse Racing Competitions), will confirm that I'm a "stickler" for Rules and Entry deadlines!! I've always felt that if you're going to do something, do it properly. Myself and Colette were quite alarmed, when a couple of Days ago we went to collect my B.P. medication from a Chemist in Chislehurst, to find the counter awash with Face Masks. Especially, as Colette has experienced a tight chest and cold type symptoms, along with myself in the past few Days. But coming into contact with a myriad of viruses, is one of the "hazards" of working in the Care Industry, for which employees are paid, a pathetic pittance. Colette is still waiting for her amazingly generous Christmas Box of, wait for it...……. a £5 Amazon Gift Voucher!! Shame on you BUPA ( a multi-million £ Company). I count myself very fortunate and a bit of a fraud, for along with my Children (who also worked with me), received 10% of our Gross Annual Income (after Tax/N.I.), if Results from a Bookmaking POV, had been favourable. Which was a hell of a lot more than BUPA's pathetic offer!! Looks like our planned Joint Anniversary/ 72nd Birthday meal with my eldest Sister, will have to be postponed, to a later Date. So, snowray no meal at Studio Gusto in Bromley. or a Joe Green (Giuseppe Verdi) Opera. I admit to doing something very un-Italian the other Day, sprinkling Worcester Sauce on my Wife's delicious Lasagna. That's as bad as having, Lasagna and Chips!! Apologies to Malcolm but one last bit of "Tomfoolery" from me, before I depart to other Threads. As well as celebrating our Wedding Anniversary, we will also be celebrating the 2nd Birthday of our Twins (stay with me and humour me on this). The first Twin, Rupert (Ruby), aka Wobbly. He was bought (born), in the Co-Op at Chislehurst, Valentine's Day 2018. He was always very flimsy and fragile. But we were very worried when his head started to come off but Nurse Septic and myself sprang into action. Below are images of Wobbly Pre-Op and Post-Op. Wobbly in recovery, with one of the medical instruments, behind him. His Twin Sister, Darcey Bella was bought (born) a Day later, amongst the Chocolates in Sainsburys, in Bromley and evidently, pushed her Twin Brother, out of the womb. Here she is, pictured below: She is a lot bigger than her Twin and like a lot of girls, has a craving for chocolate. Colette was considering getting a Cavalier King Charles Puppy, which Colette had chosen the name Darcey for but we thought with my uneasy balance, could have resulted in my tripping over it. Apologies Malcolm but I have been behaving myself lately, re. the zany, O/T Posts. Right, enough of my nonsense I'm off to other Threads. Stay safe and beware of "Dennis the Menace". Adios!! Regards, Tom.
  24. Evening all, Just spent the last hour or so, entering all the entries so far submitted, into my Competition Folder. If I could draw your attention to B87's entry above. who is the only Entrant to have filled in the Competition correctly. CATEGORY 2, seems to have been the problem. You needed to predict the following: Date and name of the last named Storm to enter the Shipping Forecast Area, and in which area will it attain its lowest central pressure, and the value in millibars recorded. Apologies to those Entrants who submitted their Entries early, such as K/Weather, I think I might have added the Central Pressure value poser, at a later stage? Quite a few of the S.E. Members have only completed CATECORY 1 - (next date of settling snow, in S.E.Region). Perhaps I'm jumping the gun a bit and they're just deciding whether to continue in the Competition, or not. The settling snow situation was the only Category of prediction in the original Competition "hosted" by my fellow South-Easterner, snowray I will drop a short reminder on the S.E.Thread Tomorrow Morning, re. the above. I've decided on a "Scoring System" for the Competition. You will receive "Virtual" monetary Credits, for each correct prediction, in the following denominations: CATEGORY 1: Correct prediction - £5. CATEGORY 2: Correct Prediction in each of the 4 parts to this Category (Date/Storm Name/S/Forecast Area, Value of central pressure in millibars) - £5 for each correct part. CATEGORY 3: Correct Prediction in each of the 2 parts to this Category (exact date/Temp. to nearest degree Celsius, of last AIR Frost of the Season, in S.E.Region) - £5 for each correct part. CATEGORY 4: Correct prediction - £5. So, if you were fortunate to predict each part of all 4 Categories correctly, you will be credited with a "virtual" £40, by my reckoning. Once all the entries have been submitted (deadline 9 PM, Sat.15th Feb). I shall employ the old adage of: "You can take the man out of Bookmaking but you can't take the Bookmaker, out of the man!" I will create a "Book" (create Betting Odds for each Entrant, on their performance in the Competition). You will then be allocated "Virtual" Stakes of £10. £5 of which will be placed on your own performance and the other "virtual" £5 will be placed on another Entrant of your choice. Any Returns from these "Virtual" Wagers will be added to your "Virtual" Credits. The Entrant who has accrued the largest amount of "Virtual" Credits by the end of the Competition, shall be deemed the Winner. In the next couple of Days, I will make a decision on what "Virtual" Prizes to award, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Regards, Tom.
  25. Much thanks to K/WEATHER and SUMMER SUN, above ^^^^^. I'll get those entered up. Regards, Tom.
