  1. Well good luck with everything! I sure will be logging into the webcam on St Ouens Thursday just to get a idea of the impact of this storm.
  2. Hope my holiday destination every year is not hit hard! All them trees on the green lanes......Lets hope for a downgrade for everyone!
  3. Excuse my limited weather forecasting knowledge, but what sort of wind gusts can I expect in the higher parts of Bradford? I really don't have faith the BBC app at all. Got quite a few friends that rely on me feeding back the information from this forum. Thank you and stay safe all.
  4. Wow Im in Bradford and I thought we were going to miss this! My BBC app only showing 20mph wind gust majority of the day?????? Case of wait and see??
  5. Snowing heavy in Wrose Bradford now! Unbelievable
  6. Thank you Jo for the reasoning. I won't be crossing any roads anytime soon Fingers crossed it stays at amber.
  7. Jo if there's a danger to life surely the warning should be Red?
  8. Thats the one I am using for the River Aire at Apperley Bridge where my mum is. I have been reliably informed by my mate who works for Calderdale Council Flood Risk Dept to make plans for moving things higher by Wednesday as he expects it to flood again and perhaps surpass the 2015 Boxing Day floods!!! Not good news at all im afraid...
  9. As ive posted in the other forum ive been advised to move things higher from my mums house who has the River Aire running at the bottom of her garden! This storm has the potential to be worse than 2015
  10. Yes my mum has the River Aire running at the back of her garden in Apperley Bridge and ive just had a call from my mate who works for Calderdale Council Flood Risk Management and he quite worryingly said this could be worse than Boxing Day 2015! Start to move things now for her is not something I want to hear......What with shielding from Covid and now this no thanks!!!!
  11. Im really hoping the forecasted rain levels don't materialise as my mum has the River Aire running at the bottom of her garden and I don't want a repeat of 2015! Last time the pumps and flood doors held up and kept it out so fingers crossed it does the same again....Just give me snow please I don't mind that...
  12. Hello everyone. I don't post here often but enjoy reading the various posts each with their own insightfulness. Im due to go to Jersey on the 8th August for 2 weeks and I am very excited by the prospect of the some major heat building up from the 7th. Does Jersey tend to be cooler due to the surrounding Atlantic Ocean? Cheers
  13. Hi there An avid follower of these forums and my mates usually rely on me to get them excited about any potential snow events. Is Bradford looking good for a decent snowfall this week? I do look at the posts and charts and try make sense of them but you guys are far more clued up than me..
