  1. Thank you Mr Blobby for creating that vast blob in the channel and throwing some our way this morning Nice big flakes at the mo.
  2. The bbc forecast at about 7.15 this evening showed snow showers running across the south all night - and into the morning, when they'll be restricted more to the coastal strip.
  3. You got it She had two topical numbers: Wishin' and Hopin' - and Summer is Over.
  4. Glad you got a lot. That was fa ab night. The low was expected to track west across southern england - but it stopped and grew deeper, and chucked out a lot of moderate snowfall all night.
  5. Who remembers - in Jan 2010 i think it was ... when a trough moved up from North East France, turned into a low that stalled over southern england for many hours and gave a lot of us a foot of snow? Can that happen tonight? I'll ask Mr Blobby to fix it for us.
  6. Mr Blobby's blob has arrived between Horsham and Worthing, but it's no longer just a blob - a blizzard, Thank you Mr Blobby. It started as a small shower off Dover; now look at it. Quite a system of some sort.
  7. And, late last night/in the early hours today, My Blobby in the channel throwing 2 very good blobs at us.
  8. A minor low/trough/wave will zip westwards tonight, most likley along the english channel. It can be seen [as the "L"] on the met office pressure chart for midnight tonight. https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/surface-pressure/#?tab=surfacePressureColour&fcTime=1521374400
  9. A narrow but long finger of snow came up from the channel into one part of west sussex, then expanded and became heavier as it reached up to london, and hung around for quite a while.
  10. Thanks for that. I wondered what was going on when I identified* a low of sorts y'day afternoon, centred between london and the sussex coast. It then became centred over London before transferring in a SW-ish direction. *by looking at the met office radar and going back in time a bit then coming back to the present. That showed precipitation from the isle of wight to the wash ... moving in an anticlockwise direction.
  11. Great persistent snowfall here west north west of brighton. The fields are now white. Thank you, Mr Blobby, stuck in your rowing boat in the channel, for chucking the snow up into sussex.
  12. It's all the rage in the model discussion at the moment - or was y'day. It was puicked up a few days ago but seems to have firmed up. First thoughts were we'd we'd get a notherly blast. Now looks like The Beast Mk III. The first week of April can deliver good snowfalls that lie.
  13. Might belt it down. Met office chart shows a small low zipping west, tomo night. maybe along the channel. Apps are saying snow for tomo night - but i don't use them.
  14. By the way, warm and cold weather lovers. Beast From The East Mk III due to hit in time for Easter. Extraordinary if that comes off.
  15. Yes. a shallow low or trough will be zipping west from the east, maybe along the channel. Interesting! It's indentified as a minor low - its has no clearly define centre - in the latest met office pressure charts. Could give a decent dumping.
  16. Thought you might be under the one east of us. It ought to start lying. The finger over us is getting heavier north of us [and now near us] and still expanding east and westwards. Could merge with yours soon. Could be an interesting night after all..
