    Yep. All momentum lost the moment it reaches the coast. There is no wind to speak off really at present.

    2-3 cm in Rochford area. A tiny amount added to from last nights first proper fall. Hoped for more from Amber warning area but hardly a breath of wind here. Schools open as normal.

    Think it's more a case of showers reaching you. Nothing to do with temps or coastal areas. It can be cold enough for snow and it doesn't snow - You still need the showers.

    Would love to know when and what guidance Met Office have sent to local authorities etc about this spell. Anyone in a position to share what information they have been issued with as it might give us a little more insight into Met office thinking.

    What chart is showing patchy sleet? Nothing marginal about temps.
