  1. I will never understand why some people would prefer this absolute dire weather.
  2. Absolute lashing down. Any precipitation today is not missing my area. was going to do some early morning shopping down near the football stadium.. will wait till the rain stops and then canoe down to the retail park.
  3. From now on anything from the West or North West, I’m not going to take any interest. It’s utter dross. Give me showers from the East or North East, any day of the week.
  4. Everything white here. Very heavy shower, started off as hail and now big flakes
  5. 47cm The severe cold spell of February 1991 – Wanstead Meteo WANSTEADMETEO.COM The cold spell of February 1991 saw unusually deep snowfall in central London. The 20cm recorded at St James’s Park on the 8th was the greatest cover recorded at the site...
  6. Summer of 76. Was in Devon for 2 weeks. Wall to wall sunshine and temps in the high 80’s low 90’s for the entire holiday. grass burnt everywhere.
  7. 79 will always remain in my memory. The depth of the snow, and it was cold… proper cold. remember Granada Reports weather saying, could be anything from 6 inches to 9 inches of snow falling over night. Remember rushing to look out the window when I woke up to see another huge fall of snow during the night. I could manage a winter of 79 right now !!
  8. I’m in Mac tomorrow.. then got to head to disley.. I could be a coward and head up to the A6.. or be a man and head up the B5470 through Rainow
  9. Really do miss a good old fashioned heavy snowfall. A good 6 inches + followed by a hard frost. Next day clear blue skies and temp hovering around freezing. Snow becoming compressed. snow showers for the next couple of days, just to give you a top-up, followed by more hard frost.. them were the days
  10. Well that was a bit of a let down ( but this is the North west) the hills behind me have a good covering, snow line was about 400-500 feet above sea level. Nowt but slush left here. warnings for tomorrow have shifted to a line from the M61 - Eastwards.
  11. The beauty of Mother Nature is that we never know what’s round the corner mate.
  12. I’m in Macclesfield and then over towards Disley and Marple.. could be interesting
  13. Love this photo. ( not mine) taken from winter hill. Bolton in the foreground, Manchester in the centre, then looking from left to right, Oldham heading down through Tameside and the Glossop area
  14. I know they are computer generated, but the MetO app has now got me down for heavy snow from 11am to 4pm.. we will see
  15. Thread has gone mad. most of us are looking for heavy snow, whilst the Wirral & Merseyside mob are more interested in Palm Trees
