Might turn thundery... Status quo are makeing me want a chase listning to them
Thats what has just passed over me.. very heavy rain for about 20 mins, everything overflowing, one bright flash of lightning with hail and long deep rumble... rain was so heavy my drainpipe has burst.... deep black sky is now being replaced with blue sky with lots of convection....

Yay im glad someone else saw it, did you hear the crackly type thunder?
it was a deep rumble, but i live in a valley and it always echo's more here.

:o, We just had a crackly of thunder but was a quiet one and im not joking
I can confirm this. very heavy rain, with large hail. and distant rumbles of thunder. and one strike over lightning out to the south east.

I heard years ago that seagulls coming inland is a sign of bad weather at sea and they come inland for shelter and food

Latest met office update on rainfall radar is looking good.. fingers crossed it can make it over the channel...

Lol... Seagulls coming is a good sign.. The fisherman use it as a sign to go out to sea or not..
Had to turn radio off as it was really going mad.. wind has all of sudden dropped.. Calm before the storm maybe ??

Feeling very stormy here on the isle of wight.. Wind has picked up a little... radio and sky have been going mad for the past 10 mins.... and seagulls have been coming inland..... all good signs...

Wow, that was amazing.. constant thunder and lightning, for over half an hour.. rain so heavy it lifted the storm drain covers in the road...

Quick question whats the furthest away a storm can be to see lightning?

Animals at the local zoo are going mad, the lion are really loud like they are howling, all the time i have lived here, never heard them do that.. The moon is a real yellow/orange colour.. Keeping my eyes out to sea, fingers crossed..

Nice breeze developed in the last 15 mins.. blue sky slowy disappearing, Altocumulus clouds developing from the south.

The line of cloud to my West has towers, it is heading NNE.
The towers were growing in front of me as I drove West along our coast road. They are making landfall around the Lyme Regis area.
25C here and nicely blustery/breezy :lol:

Very hazy over here in brading, but the breeze is really nice, heres hoping for some nice imports later and for the rest of the week..

Lightning is running the bay out to sea traveling south to north east Roughly 10 a min now. Only had one really loud rumble and that was about 20 mins ago, the rest have been rather distant but still coming every 20-30 secs
