  1. What a pain in the back side trying to get a trip to las vegas with a criminal record, have to first get a new passport £72.50 (current one is non expired but damaged) new photo, apply for visa application $160, have an interview, fill out criminal record form, get a ACPO certificate from the police for £45, then book an interview with US embassy, and then pay £18 to get my passport back. Thats almost £260 all just to see if I'm allowed entry! Will not be happy if I pay all that and find out it was for nothing 😨

Wonder how difficult it'll be in 10 years time. Lol

  2. Finally found a doctor at CDAS who will put me on quetiapine and naltrexone, got to give it 24hrs to get the drink out my system and 2 days to rationalise my mood before I see them to be breathalysed again, then get a prescription, then its cold turkey time again when I start the new meds 😕

By the sounds of it EE, I think an inpatient detox is the best course of action for you.  It's what I had, and they look after you and keep an eye on your withdrawals and change medication accordingly.  It's a much safer environment than doing it at home on your own and they kept me in for 10 days, which is the amount of time it took for me to recover from the physical side of withdrawals.  They also put me on a medicine called 'Campral' which can help with cravings etc.  I took that for a year afterwards and I really do think it helped with the cravings and breaking the habit of drinking.  I still get cravings for a drink - this Christmas was probably my toughest, but the habit of daily drinking was broken by then, plus I don't think I will ever forget how ill, both physically and mentally I was through drinking that I really don't want to go through it again.  You can do it EE, but you must be in the right frame of mind to do it, and to do it for yourself and no one else.  Speak to your doctor or key worker about being put on the waiting list for inpatient detox.  Good luck x

I have been on campral, acamprosate? in the past, but was drinking too heavily at the time for it to do any good. I've also had a supervised detox too, which was on the 8th november, aided by librium for 9 days but relapsed shortly after. Can't do another until at least June time due to the effects on the body, so stuck at the moment with trying to cut down, still going to my group sessions and now been put into a relatives group for additional support with the family. If I can get my drinking to a very low level the doctor at the addiction center is willing to put me onto naltrexone. Today's session at the GP with family wasn't much help, they refused to put me onto any kind of sedative to help me reduce, which was advised by the key worker, instead they are getting me off of current medication and going to try and find an alternative, but I need to be weened off of the current medication first.

Thanks guys and girls, My rehab date has been corrected to the 19th, (originally was told the 5th) but my key worker got it wrong, so will be attending breaking the cycle groups up until that date instead, things are still looking positive in my world though! :)

      snow raven

Hi EE, you shouldn't be trying to detox from alcohol without some kind of medical help.  I had to go as an inpatient in a detox unit where I was looked after by qualified medical staff and given medication to help with the withdrawals.  Are you on a waiting list for a detox unit? If you are, it's best to wait until you are admitted.  If not, please visit your GP or contact your support worker to discuss tomorrow.

    4. Essex Easterly

      Essex Easterly

I've already had a detox on librium but have relapsed, and now cant eat due to being sick all the time throwing up bile and blood, I'm going to see the GP tomorrow to see If I can get some valium to help me cut back down on the drink again, if that fails tomorrow I'll probably be sent to hospital for an emergency endoscopy, the one I have booked is not until the 26th and I'll be in rehab at that time if I can get myself well enough to start it, the placement is booked for the 19th, and I really don't want to be withdrawing in there, as its community based and they cannot detox you within the center

  6. Found the last set of keys 😄 Put them in a bag with all the window spacers! Have to hunt for the shed keys today, which I lost yesterday. Seem to be on an endless mission of losing and looking for keys Lol

  8. Has anyone ever ordered anything from Brazil before? How long should I expect to wait for delivery, I've ordered a painting which was posted on the 27th of November, and it's been sitting at Brazilian customs now since the 4th, with no further updates, also cannot get any info of which courier will be delivering it in the UK, and calling their office even after getting somebody who could just about speak english got me nowhere.

usually until 9:30, but today is a 12:30 - 10pm shift, the manager was supposed to be working but has been sent to hospital for some tests, so 9.5 hours without a break, which is probably illegal, but they won't care about that, it's cash in hand and under minimum wage... lol

Lol at least it's a tiny bit more ASL than Pitsea, 38m instead of 21 lol. Went back there today after seeing the estate agents and realised there's a load of trees on the walk path just behind the garden, not allowed to touch them, shouldn't bee too much bother as I'll be mounting the separate anemometer on the side of the roof, ISS at 2m and the camera can go on the side roof too, best of both worlds, accurate readings, plus a sheltered garden from the wind coming over the flat fields. I bet it will be absolutely freezing in an easterly! Will be able to get great cloudscapes, storm timelapses as well as images of the frozen fields in winter, also great for sunrises and sunsets! Hoping to upgrade to a PTZ IP camera so I can remotely pan&tilt it for the website when storms track across the horizon

  14. Anyone know if a sprain would cause this much swelling? Was moving a wardrobe yesterday and bent my thumb back 45 degrees, heard a loud crack, now it absolutely kills and only moves a few cm. Spoke to out of hours doctor but can't see anyone until tomorrow, unless I go down A&E for a cast and xray, also should I bandage it up or keep on excising it so that it doesn't lock up?

      Lol unwritten rule re sunday.

Also over-the-counter water soluble extra strength solpadeine tablets can work really well as opposed to an oral gel (can also be used in conjunction with the gel). Just bear in mind that it contains codeine, it is a derivative of opiate. Try not to go crazy on it otherwise you can get dependant on it.

    3. Essex Easterly

      Essex Easterly

@Optimus Prime Thanks! I've bandaged it up now  to the palm of my hand and have had it under a cold tap most of last night but that didn't do too much for the swelling, woke up to a thumb twice as large as it was before I went to bed lol. I've got soluable solpadeine here with me and got my dad to go out to pick up some of the ibuprofen gel, will call the doctors first thing in the morning for an emergency appointment.

I grew up on a council estate with an electricity substation was at the end of our back garden. It was called 'The Danger' and we used to climb all over it. Eventually they put up spikes onto the wall around it so you couldn't climb in.

    3. Essex Easterly

      Essex Easterly

      Essex Easterly

@Surrey All together there were roughly 15 rocks, I managed to load all the small ones into the skip, and the larger ones I rolled back down the garden as features, were just impossible to get over the side of the skip, even with the neighbours help.@Snipper I did advise her what was needed at the time but I guess she forgot, I don't live with her and can only help out when I'm around, she's almost impossible to get hold of via the phone lol. All done now though, finally!

@Dami, I was looking at doing the same for my birthday last year, for general admission, I think it was about £80 just for the Sunday, but backed out of it due to how crowded it'd be and the amount of time queuing up or having to get there super early! This Williams event is quite good for me in the social aspect, capacity is just 200, and after calling the ticketing office they're nowhere near sold out, likely due to their recent performances lol

If you don't mind sitting on a camping chair and on the side of a hilly bank then you can get tickets to spectate for around £80 as I said above 🙂 Not sure if the prices have increased, likely as they love to put them up year on year

  21. Need to get out of this hell hole, attacked by dad last night but no police involvement as I defended myself, hands are wrecked through the scruffle, then I decide to do something positive by walking back to the flat from pitsea and end up with a group of kids giving me gestures and having a bottle thrown to the back of my head, next time that happens the offender is going to be in hospital
