Just the usual rain in hull

Awful winter its been.odds on now hull will experience another winter with zero snowfall rain is another matter,its never stopped.

More heavy rain forecast this evening and overnight.

You are right about northerlies being virtually extinct.as you say ,north westerlies are no good to east yorkshire.why we dont see northerlies is a mystery

Got to be realistic,snowy days and heavy snowfall is virtually a thing of the past in places like hull and east yorkshire.

Bbc saying temps in hull next weekend and next week about 8 degrees.i dont call that cold.

February 1969,easily the best i remember.frequent northerly winds,heavy snow or heavysnow showers.type of weather we rarely get now.the east coast has never had it so good for heavy snow showers on a north wind.

Lowest temp forecast for hull in the next fortnight is about 5 or 6 degrees.we wont get snow with these forecast temperatures.

Well thats yet another snowless january in hull.

I find summer weather tedious.only good things about summer i like are the return of rugby league and cricket.my 2 favourite sports

14 years now since hull had a heavy fall of snow.2013 and 2018 we had falls of snow but nothing special.its been virtually snowless since 2018.

Few flakes in hull,nothing to get excited about.very disappointing cold spell.the wait for a decent fall of snow here goes on.

Whatever happened to the potent northerlies we used to get down the east coast with frequent heavy snowshowers.seems to be a thing of the past

as per usual in these situations nowadays,hull and east yorkshire has had mostly rain all day.as as been said nothing seems to deliver .portant northalies dont ever produce like they used to ,nor easterlies.i also think the rise in temperature due to global warming,has resulted in a lot of these marginal set up around here makes a difference.where we used to get sleet or snow is now rain or sleet.and to be honest i think snow will get even rarer in the future.

dont get the hype for this so called cold spell,currently 6 centigrade in hull and despite met o weather warnings of snow showers,theres not a trace of a flake.hope im wrong but im not confident we ll get any snow on thursday or friday.the way this winter has gone in hull it will more than likely be cold rain.

well the 3 months of winter nearly over and in hull its been a total bore fest.we ve had some dire winters for snow the last few years,but this winter tops the lot.even forgetting the total lack of snowfall,the whole winter has been tedious.i ve been interested in the weather for 40 plus years since my youth,but in the last few years my interest has waned,nothing much seems to happen.we get weeks of high pressure always seemingly situated the south and south east of the uk.even in the unsettled periods most of the low pressures seem to pass by the north of scotland.be nice to get a really portant and snowy northerly ,but again it never happens nowadays.

wish we could get another february like 1969,i was still at school,but remember the frequent north winds coming for most of the month.heavy frequent snow showers most days.every so often you would get a short mild blip,then yet another depression would rattle through and the north wind would roar down again.type of weather we rarely get nowadays.happy days

yet another terrible january for snow,having said that januarys rarely deliver in hull and east yorkshire.i remember we had a snow fall in jan 2013,but nothing special.the last really heavy snowfall in hull was 2010 and the really heavy snow fell in the last few days of november and first week of december.februarys also are now poor for snow.by the time you get to march,if it snows it rarely lies on ground long,as the sun is that much stronger.i may be wrong,but im not expecting much in the way of wintry weather for the rest of this winter.

looking at the radar i thought hull was finally going to get a covering,but hardly anything fell,just a few small flakes.i give up.

we ve not even had a dusting this winter so far in west hull. east hull did have a very slight covering in december,but nothing at all in west hull.

whatever happened to the north winds we used to get down the east coast with frequent heavy snow showers?.even in the mildest of winters ,you always seemed to get at least one spell of north winds that really delivered.wether its global warming i dont know,but something has changed.
