    Maybe on Saturday afternoon looks like a band of showers/thunderstorms are pushing north during the day getting into NE Wales and the NW by late afternoon/early evening. I'll do Chris' job for him but i don't think i'm as knowledgeable as him when it comes to convective activity so he'll probably summarise it better than me.

    The green in the sky is probably light pollution or maybe the glow from an Asda sign

    Having a punt at Hawarden already 21c at 10.30. If not then maybe Manchester or Liverpool Airport?

    Yep looking quite nice Karl liking the look of the storm potential on this run as well which could be fun The GFS could be doing it's usual trick of overestimating the cape, but even so there still might be some potential for some fun and games come the end of next week if you love a good thunderstorm.

    Been snowing here for the last 20 minutes or so very heavy at the moment and the wind is blowing the flakes all over the shop. Oh how fun to watch at least i'm not out in it Hope you guys all share in the fun this afternoon

    No sign of any sferics yet reckon it's a bit too early yet? not really looked very closely at the conditions/convective forecasts so my bad.

    Edit : Just started again lol don't think the snow can make it's mind up.

    Yeah according to the NW radar the snow should be lighter here but it's just got heavier still. Don't think the radar is right tonight.

    Snowing here now had a dusting in about 10 mins

    Anyone got any idea why the shower band over me and Chester/Mold way has completely died out within 10-15 minutes? Been going steadily for the last five hours as well I'm guessing it's to do with the front weakening as it is travelling further north.

    Just started falling here now not huge flakes but it's a start hopefully it gets up to you guys in Cheshire soon as well.

    Got around 10cm here now from continuous snowfall from the last 8 hours. Not a lot compared to what some of you have had this week but I'm pretty happy with it Thought I'd post this on here instead of the 'South Wales Thread' so I could escape their toy throwing/showing off

    Not all of the showers are though still going here been snowing since 2 this afternoon now. I guess the actual precipitation is up to Chester/Ellesmere Port maybe a bit further north?

    Yeah it is the flakes aren't massive but it's added a couple of cms this afternoon here and more will probably stick tonight.

    I've been stuck on the edges of those for the last two hours but it's struggling to stick though unfortunately but it is blowing all over the shop though.

    Had some really heavy snow a little while ago got a good 5 or 6cm now. Hope Moki and everyone else joins in on the fun

    At least we'll get sun if it goes south so every little cloud eh. Oh the irony of that saying Much rather that than the dull cloudy rubbish we have had the last couple of weeks.

    What are people thinking of the prospects for the N/NE? I'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised as things may pop up nearer the time. Not going to be selfish and i hope i get all the snow though hope all of you down in the south get plenty of snow as well. Just to add onto the chart from Jay below this is the ARPEGE (French Model's) take on the snow accumulation by Thursday.
